No,
not yet, anyhow. Pretty lousy, but people who think up such scams are pretty lousy.
I think everyone on this board would be wise enough to not fall for such a thing, but apparently, not everyone in the world is so wise, or scams like that wouldn't exist.
Thanks for the heads up.

Not surprised to be honest
So many here have given their real names, home addresses, phone numbers, and personal email addresses where the whole world can see them. I don't think most realize that whatever we write on this site is public knowledge and if you don't believe me, you should goggle some of the names used and see what you get.
There is a reason why there is a private email here, use it and please don't write personal info in any of your posts!!! The internet can be cool but it can be very scary too because there are very scary people out there.
Okay, off my "you have to help protect your privacy" soapbox and John, that was very funny!!0 -

With Google Earth or Bing, anyone can actually see exactly
where you live, what's in your backyard..... a good route
to take after they invade your home.....
Privacy is a thing of the past. Once your data is out there, it can
never be removed; it is forever cached across the Internet for eternity.
The WayBack Machine
If you open a "command" window and type: tracert (space) and a url (csn.cancer.org),
you will see the computer systems your data goes through, to get from you to there.
tracert
Each computer system caches (saves) your data, and at each, it is possible
for the owner/operator to read that data. (and yes, a good hacker can, also)
All the Internet is, is a real big telephone "party line".
There. Feel better now?0 -
I didn't see it.
Quite possibly I did. I get loads of stuff like that, 20-40 emails a day of spam, but it almost all gets filtered out by two levels of spam/scam/junk email controls. So I don't see it. I use Spam Assassin, which (for one thing) consults a national database of sources of email scams, and Firefox's trainable junk mail system. Both work really well.
