Had to do something crazy today
So today it was raining, and I went to the beach. I walked out onto the pier in the rain, of course I had the pier all to myself. The closer I got to the end I was jogging and laughing so hard. As I stood at the end looking out into the ocean I felt so free, so strong, and so at peace. The presence of God was there, and He comforted me and spoke within my spirit, and heart.
Then I had to get my tired butt back to my car. As I walked back I realized I was still in the game of life. And no I am not crazy, although I probably looked like a fruit-loop to any passerbyers, but I didn't care.
You know I never liked the rain, and hated to get wet, but that changed today. I learned today that rain (what I always saw as negative) is just as important for the growth of things as much as the sun (positive) In my life rain must fall so I will grow, and know how good the warmth of the sun (son) is.
With all that I have been thru, and still enduring. I feel so blessed, and so loved by God.
Take care
Jennifer

I think this is great! Hubby and I love walking in the rain, well, not a pouring down rain, but a little rain. It just feels good and clean!
What you did was freeing to you and that is what you needed!
You go girl!

That was an absolute beautiful story. I continue to be amazed at the "growing" we all seem to go through as we endure our treatment schedules and life after. It truly is a life-changing situation and the joys of life become so much more evident!! Thanks for sharing.0 -

If you are crazy, you're in great company!
I just was reading some quotes and one of them had YOUR name all over it:
"Anyone who thinks that only sunshine can bring happiness has obviously never danced in the rain!"
You sound renewed and refreshed~ thank you for sharing this delightful experience with us!

That was beautiful - there are those moments when we realize that life is still going on around us and we can either be a part of it or let it pass us by. For me, it was a morning when I heard the birds singing outside my window. I love watching and listening to birds but hadn't noticed them in some time - I was too wrapped up in getting from one doctor's appointment to the next. It awoke something in me that needed to be awakened. I love the beach and the rain although I am nowhere near it like you are - it always brings a sense of peace and perspective. I am so glad that you had this "moment."

I love your story, Jennifer.
After reading it, I am inspired to do something special as well. I just got through telling a friend today that I feel like fighting breast cancer has become my "job." It's all-encompassing and seems to take up most of my time--between appointments, tests, resting, etc., it has become a job. I'm going to tell my wonderful husband that next weekend we are going away--just the two of us--to reconnect and forget about cancer!
Thank you--you've helped me and I'm sure many others on this site.

I am so proud of you and happy that you were touched by the very hand of God today. It made me think of a quote that someone else posted the other day.....life is not about waiting for the storm to be over....it about dancing in the rain.....be blessed.

Thank you, Ms. Sunshine (in the rain).
Thanks ladies. Yeah I needed that boost I could feel myself loosing steam. Starting to have a pity-party so I had to shake that off.
btw We are starting to have signs of the oil rolling onto our beaches. Just makes me sick. Gulf Shores has black waves. They have shut down that beach. I pray that someone can stop that oil from spewing.0 -
