second treatment.
Vinny, I hope you don't have any problem with the neulastra. I have really been fortunate with the one I had. No pain or after effects. The chemo kicked my butt as you know. I go next week for my blood test to see if I am ready for round 2 or not. John0 -

Hey Vinnie
It's the prednisone high. I used to be up all night watching movies for the first 3 days of treatments....I am normally in bed by 9.
Hope you got some sleep last night, or rather this morning that is
Take care,

Beth, yes that prednisone is something else. I was up and down all night for 2-3 days when on it. I am 16 days out of 1st round and the good days are pretty regular but still not 100%. I had blood counts done about a week ago due to lower back pain. Had to rule out the kidneys. Blood counts were good, but still not feel 100%. I wonder why? Is the chemo still working and destroying the cells. Any idea how long the chemo works doing its job? John0 -

Vinny, Prednisone can really play with you,did the same with me except I kept getting up all hours of the night. Lasted about 3 days and nights. Just wondering how the second round is going so far. I have seen where some people say the next day is pretty rough for them. I know we are all different, but some of the effects are about the same. My rounds are 3 weeks apart and 6 total treatments. I did notice my hair does come out when I run my fingers thru it, but not that bad yet. The good days are getting better, but not 100%. I assume its the treatment still doing its job, but do not know for certain. Take it easy and don't overdo anything. John0 -

I had my third yesterday. The lower back pain is from the Neulasta. Most of the blood cells are made in the hips. So thats what the pain is . I am tired, but still trying to do my regular activities (not exercise!) Haven't had any tummy problems but getting sleep is another story. I was up working at my sewing machine at 4:30 this morning.I haven't even napped.0 -

Vinny,
Sorry your stomach doesn't feel too good. Zofran worked really good for me. They also gave me compazine but it didn't work near as well as zofran did. Maybe if you call your chemo nurse and ask if there is something else that would work better for you?
I feel for you, no sleep really sucks. Try taking benedryl, my onc let me take it for sleeping. Also acupuncture helped with my ability to sleep.
Take care,

I really like about everything, The Foo Fighters, to Dave Matthews, to Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Cold Play, Lenny Kravitz, and Trace Adkins to name a few.... I got about 100 tabs of different songs that I mess with. I have trouble of course with all the solo's just find it hard to get, only been playing about a year, but I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You????0 -

Thanks Beth, my wife suggested the benedryl too..... I just can't see acupuncture as many times as we get poked with needles in a week!!! LOL0 -

At least the acupuncture needles are painless....seriously they are so small you don't even feel them. You lay on a table in a dimmed room listening to very soft music and sleep or lay quiet for about 10-15 minutes and that's it. The needles barely even go under the surface. The benefit is great.
Vinnie, I would take 2 hydrocodone, 2 benedryl, and one cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxer) in order to sleep. I tried asking my onc for sleep aids and he told me what I was taking was good. Ask for sleep aids, your body needs it to heal.
Take care!0 -

Vinny, How are you doing today after the last treatment. Probably feeling tired and worn out I guess. Just checking to see how you are making out. Just take it easy, you don't want to use up all your energy overdoing anything. John0 -
