Good luck Vinny and my prayers are with you.

All the best!
After today you will be 1/3rd done! I don't think I noticed too much that was different after treatment 2, side effect wise. However after treatment 2 and before treatment 3 I did have a PET scan that showed complete remission. So it worked quickly. I still had to complete all 6 treatments to go after "renegade cells", but it was easier to cope with it all knowing it was doing it's job. Congrats on the Gilda's club visit. I don't know much about it and will have to check it out. The poor spouses and families get kind of forgotten along the way. My Husband was great and a huge support to me but really didn't have many people to vent to and of course didn't want to do that with me. I would drag it all out of him at times and I think that helped some but I am sure he censured himself on my account. I do know that he suffered right along with me and felt helpless. He's really laid back and goes with the flow, but all of the worry and thinking just stayed inside. We managed to make it through the treatment intact. Good luck to you both!....Mary0 -

Hey Vinnie,
Good luck to you today. Hope it goes a little faster for you this time. I don't know if you've seen my other posts, but you may want to consider acupuncture...it REALLY helps with the side effects.
2 Down!! Always a good thing to see it behind you.

SECOND TREATMENT
Vinny, See where you shaved your head. Its been 2 weeks yesterday since my 1st treatment and my hair has not started to fall out as of yet. I have seen a few post where it starts about 2 weeks after 1st treatment. I will do the same thing here when it does start. I am wondering if its the same for everyone as far as starting about the 2 week mark.I am sure others will be able to shed some light on that. John0 -

Hi Vinnie,
Here's sending you lots of positive thoughts for your second treatment. I know for me the second treatment was a lot easier than the first. Maybe just because I knew what to expect. I've been told that once every two weeks is however more intense than the once every 21 days that I had.
So great you went to Guilda's Club. I've heared really great things about them. And good for your wife for getting support. My husband just kept everything bottled in side of him and if he was asked how he was he would say he was handling it. I was really conserned for him as he went through a lot during my treatments and beyond. It's very hard on those who love us, but thank God for them.
Take care,

Hi John,
You may not lose your hair so it's a good thing your not just shaving it,LOL. It's the Adriamyacin that insures the hair loss so maybe you'll just have some hair thinning. Let us know what happens.
Good luck,

I had just CVP + rituxan and my hair fried about 10-14 days after treatment. It started getting messy and then fried like very bad perm (left me no choice other than to shave).0 -
No hair in my soup
Vinny,
I just shaved my head too !!
Stay positive stay focused on the the fact that your treatment is making you better even when it makes you feel like crap. You'll be back on your feet in a few days so let your wife and family take care of business while you rest. Don't stop eating and drinking while you are recovering.
you'll be fine Vinny hang in there

Hey John,
At first I noticed it not necessarily falling out on it's own, but if you take your fingers just pinch a small part of your hair and pull, does it come out? You don't even feel it.
Once mine started doing that I could NOT stop myself from doing it unconsciously LOL. It was sooo weird. My friends at work would tell me STOP THAT it's freaking me out! I thought it was cool.0 -

AAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!! YOU ARE RIGHT. I DID WHAT YOU SAID AND ALMOST CRAPPED MYSELF. I DO IT FOR A WHILE AND IT GETS LESS. a FEW HOURS LATER IT STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN. I HOPE I DON'T GET INTO A SNEEZING JAG, IT MIGHT ALL FALL OUT. I HAVEN'T LOST THAT MUCH YET, BUT I AM SURE IT WILL GET WORSE,RIGHT.0 -

Yes it is starting to thin. Been running my fingers thru it like dixie girl was saying. I don't know when it will stop or if it will. I have only had the one R-cvp so far.Got 5 more to go.0 -

John,
I don't know about the sneezing part, but you may want to consider getting it shaved. You are right, it will start getting worse and it really will make you feel better after you get rid of it.
Are you feeling back to yourself yet?0 -

Beth, I feel better now and the good days are longer, but still not back to normal,at least not 100%. I am 16 days out of the first round of r-cvp. I don't know if its the chemo still doing its job or not. Do you know how long the chemo keeps working between rounds. My blood counts were good when i went in last week for lower back pain to rule out the kidneys. John0 -

I don't remember if my doc told me how long the chemo stayed in my system...for some reason I'm thinking about 8 days but I don't really know where that number is coming from. You'll have to ask your doc next week when you go for round 2.
I'm glad you're feeling more normal so you can enjoy this last week of feeling good!
I laughed my butt off about your post about the hair...LOL. See the humor my friend........it really does help!
Take care,
Beth0
