I'm here
I've been super busy with a lot and haven't been around much.
I had a PET scan yesterday but the results are not in yet. As soon as I know I'll update people here.
I'm still dealing with throat issues. I can't swallow much but a bit of water. I'm still working with the speech pathologist. I have tinnitus and neuropathy that the onco Dr says "might go away, or might not - recovery of these nerves takes a long time". It doesn't affect my playing which is good.
I am in training to become a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer/Parent Educator. I finished a two-day workshop in Watsonville last week. I'm trying to open a psychotherapy office in my home town. So I'm pretty busy.
Best,

I'm sorry you are suffering from various neuropathies. Cisplatin is a seriously strong chemo agent.
You definately keep a busy schedule despite all the challenges. It's pretty amazing.
I hope your throat issues beging to improve soon.

You are something else, Mick. Don't know how you do it- setting-up this career during treatment for your 2nd-Chance, and keeping it going forward. Really is awesome, Mick. Inspirational, actually. Seems the keeping very-busy thing has served you well, and might just be something a lot of us can learn a lesson from, as best one can with their specifics. You are establishing a benchmark, it seems, on kick-starting the 2nd-chance, and deserve the greatest of praise for it.

Kent, those words mean so very much to me and I very much appreciate them. Like everyone in here, we are here because we endure and each of us has our own way of doing that. For me it is focusing on what is meaningful to me - my family, music, counseling - so that I have a direction. Having that direction is what helped me endure this brutal time. My benchmark, so to speak, is really no different than anyone else's because we all endure what we can.
Kent, your journey is inspirational to me and I have such respect for how you are in the world, your thoughtfulness for others is something I admire and wish I could emulate more often. Thanks to everyone for just being here and sharing your journey with the rest of us, helping us endure the physical and emotional hurdles.
Best,
