Your mother
I must first say I feel all your pain and frustration. I just lost my mother to osteosarcoma and I still wonder if I did enough for her. I am not an expert on either treatment for your mother, but I would try and contact a specialist first and ask their opinion. Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York is an excellent place to start. My mother's oncologist there was Mary Louise Kohen. But there are several sarcoma specialist you can be referred to and they all confer together. But no matter what, you must know sarcomas are difficult to treat. It was so hard on me when they told me it had again spread and that there were no more treatments. I felt there had to be more I could do, but there wasn't. My heart truly goes out to you and your mother at this time. I am so sorry. I am here to vent and if you want to vent to me or talk please feel free, I'm hoping I can heal my heart here.0 -

Hi -
I read your post and my heart ached. My sister was just diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma. She has not yet started treatment but will most likely this week. It is stage IV, as it is near her kidney and a couple of small spots on her lungs. She also has a spot in her leg. I am wondering how much time she has left? And whether these treatments, which sound so severe are event worth trying?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am devastated.0 -

I am so sorry to hear that and I believe your mother will be at somewhere watching u and blessing u.
Thank you so much for your help. As daughters we often blame ourselves if we have done enough for our mom when sth terrible happen to them. But you don't have to do that anymore, your mom will be proud of you cuz u r spreading her love right now.
I will really appreciate if there are any treatment suggestions from the US specialists. Cuz we are in china and I can hardly get any specific information for this kind of rare cancer. My mom now has Brain metastasis, and the dor suggests we begin with the whole brain radiotherapy and along with the systemic chemotherapy with Avastin. I am so anxious and worry right now, I dont know if this is the best for my mom. But what I will do is to try my best to support her no matter what will happen.
Looking forward to hear from u again. Be strong my sister.

Yes, this kind of cancer is very dreadful and quick. But what we should do is never give up, give ur sister encouragements and a big smile everyday. Ask suggestions from her attending doctor and discuss with ur families.
Ur support is very important to her right now, so be strong. Wish u good luck.
