Going to Smokies

Leaving late tonight til Friday. I love the Smokies. Has anyone else been there by Gatlinburg? We see so many beautiful sights, streams, mountains, wildlife (including bears). Last trip I couldn't do any hiking at all, but will be able to this time. It will be so good to put bc on the back burner for awhile. Going river rafting down the Pigeon River too, the slow rapids part. I'll be thinking of everyone and sending prayers while watching the sunrise over the mountains. Some of my daughter in there too in the beginning. I like to hit slideshow and just watch them sometimes. I'll post when I get back.

    My family went to Gatlinburg
    For a vacation a couple of years ago. I'm with you - the mountains are just so beautiful and peaceful. We stayed at a hotel that visit but if I ever go again, I'm thinking renting a cabin in the woods. Hope you have a wonderful time!

    We stayed in a cabin in Pigeon Forge for a week about 3 years ago in May. You are right it is soooo beautiful. Enjoy your time away.

    I live in Gatlinburg...but I'm actually heading out for the weekend! It's been really hot here but cooler weather is supposed to start tomorrow so you should have beautiful weather this week. Enjoy the river and don't feed any bears!

    white water rafting!!
    From Gatlinburg, we did a rafting trip last summer. I had the time of my life!!!
    Explained my health and they took good care of me. And there were cameras at each rapid where it took pictures for memories, too. Have fun!! :)

    What a great way to refuel and energize. I have heard it is very beautiful. No, I have never been to the Smokies but it is on my bucket list.
