Update on my reoccurcence and good news

I hate to talk about my reoccurence, I do not want to scare anyone, But, anyway, I do have some good news. I just had my 3rd round of chemo yesterday, i was so exhausted, my nurse actually told me that chemo hits harder the second time around, can you imagine? I saw the doctor, he sees a great inprovement. My swollen lymph node is gone, my liver is not as swollen as it was, he can manually feel this. My blood tests are coming back good. I do have some pain in my right side, which is normal, he said. My insurance has not approved the drug Avastin to be used with Herceptin and Taxol, but he believes that his treatment is working. whew! Best news of all, no chemo next Thursday! He is giving my body a break. I have alot of plans next week since it is a holiday weekend and my daughters birthday is Friday. Hubby and i are going away for a few days, so I should be feeling good, we are staying in the area, about 60 miles from home. I have not lost a hair on my head, so I think i will get thru my vacation without having to be worrying about being bald and sick. So my mantra of the day is "Life is Good". Remember that I love you all and pray for you every day.

    I used to have a t-shirt that said "Life is Good", although these days it is not always easy to see and I'm pretty sure I would not be wearing the shirt if I still had it. But, I'm really happy for your good news and hope you have great time with your family.

    Yes, Meena, you plan a great holiday weekend outing with your family. I'm so happy you won't be sick or bald on it. I've been bald on vacations before, so I understand not wanting to worry about that. Oh my goodness I remember wondering if I should wear my wig while horeseback riding and what about the pool, etc. Life is good, girl.

    Hi meena1,

    Could I be so bold as to ask how long it was before your reoccurance? I go for my four month check-up that actually turned into 6 months check-up. I'm hurting in my joints really bad (mainly hips, knees, elbows), but I have a spot on my leg just above my knee joint that stays a bit sore. I did go to my PCP and she said I definitely had arthritis. I worry because two ladies that took chemo at the same time I did, ended up with cancer coming back in their bone WITHIN 6 months of finishing their first round of chemo. I don't want to run to the Dr. everytime I have an ache, but I want to catch it sooner than later. Anybody out there with a thought or suggestion, please feel free to chime in. Blessings to all.

    every little pain I get " it must be back!!!" Then I talk myself OUT of it. sheesh, life goes on and we just try to cope with that fear from now on, I guess. I'm trying to enjoy those fleeting days when I totally forget about it! Maybe they will begin to run together soon. God bless, and it's so good to hear that if it does come back there is HOPE!

    Hi Meena, glad to hear your good news but sorry that the second round of chemo is so hard on you. I'm going thru chemo, just had my 7th out of 12, so I'm getting there, but now without some bad side effects. Wishing you well and enjoy your week off.

    Meena 1 -- I am so very happy that you have a
