Hysterectomy after cervical cancer treatments

Anyone out there ever have a hysterectomy after finishing chemo/rad treatments for stage IV cervical cancer? About a year after finishing treatments I asked my gyn about having this done and he told me I was not a candidate, because "basically, the radiation has melted all your parts together." Several months ago my pap & biopsies came back showing dysplasia again. I met with my radiology oncologist today and he's suggesting I have a hysterectomy to prevent the ca from returning to these body parts. States that it would be a difficult surgery due to the radiation, but doable. I have agreed to meet with the gyn. oncology surgeon that attempted the first surgery, but just grabbed a bunch of lymph nodes and closed me up do to the mets. I am feeling very confused at this time. Any in put would be appreciated.
