    Hi Cynthia....
That is what has me so baffled. No fever, no UTI symptoms, nothing to connect it to. Just the trace blood in my urine. So I guess the scans are the next step, I'm sure. I do have to go back this week and re-check the urine.
I worry because I spent almost a year complaining of pain in my upper arm they could not diagnose when they finally found my cancer. Now that I have gone through all my treatment, the pain is completely gone! I believe the tumor was pressing on a nerve and I was having 'extended' pain?
So, when I am experiencing any pain or discomfort now, I second guess if it is really something occuring in that particular spot or not.
Thanks for the link, it was a big help.

I believe in you and I think
I believe in you and I think that you are the best judge of all of your body. When I had the rib fractures and pain in 2005, I pressed for a diagnosis. Not that I wanted it to be a recurrence, but I had that feeling. In 2009, after a bout with pneumonia, I finally had a biopsy and a diagnosis: bone mets. My pain in the ribs felt like an alien in there trying to push out. So, if this persists and you are worried, please get it checked. We all want you well and are praying that you are!

    Hi Pammy
just want you to know I am wishing you all the best and praying for you always. Please let us know when you find out. I have had MRSA in my hands, busitis and many other aches and pains since treatment...and the fear is always there that the beast has returned. I am always relieved when it is ANY other thing. I hope you get this problem resolved and it is nothing to worry about. Remember your sisters are always here with you cheering you on dear Pammy. xxoo

    Poop?
Moopy would probably kill me for passing (so to speak) this story along, but anything for you, Pammy.

Last September, Moopy had pretty much the same pain you described. She thought it was a kidney infection. When it got annoying enough, she decided we should go to Urgent Care and get on an antibiotic. Hah. The UC doctor, who was very kind and very serious, ruled out the kidney infection and started scanning away. Two scans and an X-ray later, Moopy had 1) a growth near her right lung, 2) a cyst on her pancreas, and 3) what looked like an obstruction in her bowels. Great!

Moopy decided to make an appointment with her regular PCP, the awesome Dr. Hee-Sun Kim. Dr. Kim was already booked, but she switched patients with another doctor so she could see Moopy. She came in smiling as she announced her diagnosis: Moopy was full of poop! As Moopy's PCP, Dr. Kim knew that Moopy has had regular issues with "regularity." Dull ache? Check. Feeling of fullness? Check. Moopy got a stern lecture on hydration and diet, and we were on our way.

Resolving the concerns about the cysts took another couple of weeks and an endoscopic ultrasound, which neither of us even knew existed. We were supposed to consult with a pancreas specialist in St. Louis, but the EUS guy in Joplin said he could check it all out. Both were benign, and the Moopster (or should I say the Poopster) was good.

The point is this, Pammy: what you are experiencing sounds like exactly what Moopy had going on last fall. It may well be a question of poopativity. Even if it is not, it is probably some other tweak or twinge. It is *not* cancer - that's what everyone was telling Moopy back then, and everyone was right. Now I am telling you the same thing. I look forward to hearing from you that I am right.

    God bless!
    Joe

    Joe
I hope she forgives you for telling everyone she was full of, well you know what. Glad to see you posting again. Please tell moopy to read her mail.

    maybe a U T I ?
I have had several urinary problems since beginning Arimidex. I have no idea if they are related, but my doctor always puts me on an antibiotic and cultures the urine. Hope your situation clears up soon.

    Hi Jackie!
Your right, the fear is always there. I don't think we ever really get rid of it. Tuck it away for a while, but something always brings it right back to the forefront. I am anxious to find out what is going on, but not sure I really want to know. I will keep everyone posted!

    Hi Lizzie....
Is it possible to have a UTI and not have the usual symptoms? This all started about 1 month after I started taking the Arimidex, but have been off it for 3 weeks now. Maybe I will know more when I go back to have my urine checked again.

    STEFF!!!!
So good to see you! You wanna have an ice-cream party? We can just 'pretend' it's non-fattening! LOL...
My Onc and I just went over all this last week, which has brought me to "here we go again!"
I have no UTI symptoms, it was just a trace of blood, no sharp pain, no moving pain. Although sometimes I question if it 'feels' more towards my spine at times. It is always there! And it is more prominate right up under my last rib. My Onc wants my PCP to follow up since he is closer. I have decided I will not have anything serious going on and that will be that!!! LOL

    Ice cream is

    Pammy
Ice cream is fattening. No one told me. I am sure it is right up there with celery. That's my story and I am sticking to it. I just had a ice cream cone and it was so yummy. Later I plan to have another one cause the more you eat the thinner you become. I sure do miss you. Hope they figure out what is going on.

Hi, Pammy, it is soooo good
Hi, Pammy, it is soooo good to see you back. I'm sorry to read that you are "full of poop", LOL. I will be hoping that they discover the culprit and take care of it post haste. Maybe you just need a little more time of being off the Arimidex. I'll keep my fingers crossed that that's the case. Take care of yourself and don't be a stranger.

    OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joe, you absolutely had me rolling this AM!! Thank you! I would be sooooo happy if someone told me I was full of poop! Unfortunately, I am pretty regular. I really, really thought the Arimedex was the cause (too hard on my kidneys to process), but I have been off it for 3 weeks and no change. But, I have to admit, that this was never a consideration until you brought this topic up! Hmmm....you just never know, maybe I AM full of 'poop'!! LOL
Please give Moopy a big hug for me!

    Full of Ice Cream?
Hi, Pammy, I'm glad that Joe's post at least made you laugh. A little humiliation is nothing compared to a friend's smile. As long as he doesn't start referring to me as "Poopy," I'm good. (New Flower, you're forgiven, too--no way can I be mad at someone who could create such a beautiful, evocative User Name.)

I'm still wondering, Pammy, if it is not a UTI, maybe it is stones like Steff described. (And Steff, I am sorry you went through that pain and sickness. I felt badly for you reading about that hospital visit.) Actually, kidney stones was the initial or expected diagnosis of the Urgent Care doc, when I made my memorable trip full of poop. If it is stones, it may be so early that you won't have to go through what Steff did. Then again, a kidney infection can't be ruled out, right, even if you don't have a fever.

I do have an issue with you and Steff on the matter of ice cream. Before you two, I was not an ice cream-crazed person. Now, I am. I have been eating at least one ice cream or custard-based treat every day! I am even testing strawberry milkshakes, buying one at every placed in town to judge which is best. (So far, it's Culver's.) I am hugging you back, but you probably need to make more room if you want to hug me, given my ice cream calories.

Kathy, I'm on to my e-mail. Sorry I missed you.

Seriously, please keep in touch, Pammy. I'm sure it is nothing, but we will wait with you to confirm. Steff and Joe are right about no cancer, but your mind needs to be relieved of that fear, as well as the discomfort removed.

    MOOPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL....I was thinking of starting an ice-cream anonymous group, but the only place I could think to meet was non other than Baskin Robins. However, Dairy Queen was in the running too!! (Just finished a Chocolate chip mint wafflecone!).
Now I am debating if I should turn on the Wii fit.....na!
I can't wait till I can get started on diagnosing the new "ache", but although our Ins starts in 2 more weeks, we still don't have our cards to get the ball rolling.
It will all work out (just more excuses to consume mega amounts of ice-cream!!).
It's so good to see you (you look really good in your pic!).
I will keep in touch and keep everyone updated. Right now, we need to put our energies into the others with reoccurences that need our support and energy and strength to be there for them!
    Hugs and hope

I just love your avitar (it makes me smile) and it is so good to see you too!! There is the possibility that I am full of 'poop' in a sense......
What if all that calcium I was consuming for my bones gave me stones (aren't that what they are made from?) and we all know how I consume my calcium...ICE-CREAM!!!!!
But, I am with you, hoping more time off the Arimidex will resolve the issue!
    Hugs and hope as always!

    Congrats on your hubbys
Congrats on your hubbys promotion to Lt! Awesome news!

Funny how things work out: that picture of me was taken May 8th, 4 days afer my gallbladder surgery. My niece and I did the Revlon 5K for Women's Cancer, and my surgeon was not exactly supportive of me doing a 5K so soon after surgery. But I was determined, and did it~ that is my niece and me at the finish line. A week after that, Reggie and I did the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K here in our little town. A month later, my life has changed again...

It looks like I won't be in the Relay For Life next month with chemo in my very near future. It cemented in my mind not to wait~ if we have the opportunity to do something, we should do it , we can't assume there will be another chance.

Ok~ enough ranting from my soapbox~ Ice Cream for everyone! And 2 scoops for Pammy!

    Love ya!

    Pammy,
Isn't it great, we are bringing people over to the dark side (dark chocolate that is). Cold Stone Creamery is another great choice for ICA meetings. Ice cream is probably my biggest weakness. It was my dad's too. So it's genetic.
Hope they figure out what the heck is going on? Not fun to be in pain.
