We're all packed and ready to go at 6:30 am for a 9:30 am flight to Anchorage and then on to Fairbanks...like everything has been checked and rechecked...especially passports and drivers licenses...anything else forgotten can be bought.
My husband's frat brother, golfing buddy, cribbage buddy was diagnosed a week ago Monday with bile duct cancer. He hadn't felt well for a month...Surgery...Whipple...was done this morning at Northwestern in Chicago...he was going to have it done locally but we all talked him out of that...he needed a surgical oncologist. We feel badly that we have to leave tomorrow and won't be able to help drive his wife up to Chicago...she refuses to drive in Chicago though it is an easy drive...but easy for me is not easy for everyone.
Please add Bill to your prayers...there is no chemo for it...radiation doesn't help..only this awful surgery...it takes the head of the pancreas, the gall bladder, the bile duct..part of the stomach and all of the lower intestine...
I can't believe our friends are going through this a year later than we did. EC is rare but CC is rarer...1,000 cases a year.
So our spirits are dampened a bit and it's suppose to rain in Alaska...
I'll be back on around June 27th...
Hopefully everyone will be doing ok...prayers always for everyone here.

Bill is in Our Prayers
Orion
What a wonderful friend you are. You are so caring and helpful. Please try your best to have fun on your well deserved vacation. Power in prayer. Bill is in the best place he can be. Surgery is his best option. God bless him and his family at this time. Peace be with him and his family at this time. Now you go and enjoy yourselves! We will take care of things here!
