Cancer came back after resection

I had liver resection surgery on 12/09 to removed a 7.6cm tumor with good margin. The pathology report indicated extensive vascular invasion and now a 4.6cm shows up on the resection area. Doctors are recommending surgery to take out the whole right lobe, there is a significant chance it will come back to the left lobe. TACE is their 2nd choice. Any has similar experience?

    if its a single 4.6cm tumor
    if its a single 4.6cm tumor cant they ablate it with RF or microwave?

    my previous pathology showed
    my previous pathology showed extensive vassel invasion and my MELD will be very low for transplant. I think my tumor is too big for RFA, my surgeon and liver specialist both recommended surgery as 1st choice and TACE as 2nd choice.

    TACE
    My husband has had two TACe procedures and so far so good. he is having a CT scan tomorrow. Will check back then with an update on the results.

    I have scheduled surgery to cut out the entire right lobe on 6/21. The doctors said that the chance for recurrence is very high but my options are limited and surgery is still best option. Thanks for all your replies.

    Tell the damn doctor that
    Tell the damn doctor that the chance of recurrence is always high....with any cancer! Im sick of hearing all the negative. Lets look at the positive, it hasnt spread outside your liver :)

    Jum how did your surgery go?
