Surgery was the third of May. He came home and went back in because of a fever. They treated him with antibiotics and sent us home. We went back on the 27th and the Doctor took the drain out and by then he was having alot of pain in his back. He says it's sharp when he takes a deep breath. Then on the first of May we had to go back through the ER again because he was running a temp of 101.2 and that's while doing tylenol four times a day. He was in the hospital Monday night and Tuesday night and just came home Wednesday. He is still running a low grade temperature like 99 to 100 on and off especially at night. I don't think the Doctors really know what's causing the fever. They have him on augmentin for 21 days. He has a really poor appetite and is soooooooooo tired. Has anyone had problems with fever and infection after liver resection? I'm sure all of these set backs will delay him starting chemo now too.
Thanks,
April

    After liver resection
    April,

My husband had his resection in March and has fever, fatigue, and some headaches still but his is due to a blocked bile duct. I am sure the doctors will figure it out soon and Jim will be fine. The liver resection is really rough surgery.

You and Jim will be in my thoughts and prayers. Let us know how he progresses. I, too, worry about my David. I think we want to fix everything and it's frustrating.

    Hugs and healing,
    Priscilla

    April, I've been hoping to
April, I've been hoping to hear from you. I am so stinlin' sorry about these setbacks. I did not experience infection/fever after resection and my appetite rebounded after a few weeks.

Prayers that they fin d out what this is and it stays managed so Jim can move forward
