    Rows are on great circles.
Row 1 is 4 trees planted around the equator, equally spaced, at longitude 0, 90, 180, and 270 degrees.
Row 2 is 2 more trees planted at each pole, together with the first and third of the trees on the equator.
Row 3 is the 2 trees planted at the poles, together with the second and fourth of the trees on the equator.
6 trees have been planted. The other 4 trees are planted around the tropic of Capricorn, equally spaced at 45, 135, 225, and 315 degrees.
Row 4 is the 2 trees planted at the poles, together with the first and third of the trees on the tropic of Capricorn.
Row 5 is the 2 trees planted at the poles, together with the second and fourth of the trees on the tropic of Capricorn.

Some trees may need to be planted under water.
