California, Here We Come!

can't wait...My youngest son (20), my Boyfriend, and I will be going to San Diego to vacation with my 2 older sons (30, 31); we rented a condo on the bay side. We'll all be together which is a rarity. My 3 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and 2 granddaughters (2yrs, 8 mo, and 3 1/2). My oldest son and his family live in Germany; my middle son lives in California and his girlfriend and daughter live in Germany but they may be getting married soon.
I hadn't seen my older granddaughter for 2 years. Last Spring, I was going to plan a trip to Germany but had a bad bout of herniated disc pain that left me with left leg weakness, putting me out of work for a few weeks (it's since healed up). When I started looking at plane tickets again in the summer of last year, I saw blood in my stool and, well it's so simple to fill in the blanks from there,huh? ;) So when we all started talking about getting together again, my sons had the wonderful idea of renting a beach condo and we can all vacation together. (Usually one son or the other will visit with their family in my 2 bedroom apartment.)
The last time we were ALL together was in Germany in October 2007. And my younger granddaughter wasn't even here yet! So actually it's the first time that ALL of us will be together.
My youngest son was born an old man and loves being with his brothers and their families. Boyfriend has met all of them but, like me, will be the first time we're all together.
Well, thanks for listening to me ramble on.

    Beach condo with your family - sounds like a match:)

    Really sounds fun and comforting - have the best time - heard SD has really nice weather and I'm sure it will be great.

    I LOVE San Diego!....It's got great weather!!!!

    When we sneak away for a weekend, we stay at the Ocean Park Inn in Pacific Beach...a bit rustic, but the view (right on the ocean) is wonderful!

    BTW, if you travel to Mexico, be a bit cautious. Pickpockets and scam artists (even little kids) are everywhere. We have a bit of trouble with hooligans right now in T.J., but if you stay to the beaten paths, it's fine, from what I hear....altho a bit tired looking...haven't been myself in awhile...

    i spent most of my young adult professional life in San Diego. aw sum weather there, beautiful beaches, great restaurants and plenty to do like concerts, comedy clubs etc...have a great time!!
