I could only make it through
I could only make it through 3 rounds of Taxoter. I got really sick with chemo but I made it through all 6. Had my last session in Feb, doing rads now.

    Taxotere and cytoxan
I had cytoxan and taxotere and never had any problems. They did give me a iv bag of steriods and anti nauseous meds before each chemo treatment and I believe that is what kept me from the side effects. Did you have that before your treatments?

    Taxotere and cytoxan
My cocktail was taxotere and cytoxan - six sessions three weeks apart. Didn't think it was too bad. . . never really got sick. . .and found out that the taxotere actually helped my rheumatoid arthritis! I'm not saying it was a walk in the park, but it was doable! I start more chemo next week, hope I can handle it as well as this first round!

    My Drugs
I'm half way done 3 out of 6 treatments of taxotere and carboplaltin. Next treatment is Fri. June 4. I don't like any of it but it must be done. They give me anti-nauseous meds before they start as well as steroids. I also have to take steroids the day before and the day after. Then the 2 days after I take Emend. I haven't been sick but the Neulasta shot kicks my tail. My white counts get so low before it kicks in. The last time I ended up in the hospital but I have survived. Just hang in there, the week before my next treatment is my best. I can taste and feel like doing things. Small trade to be alive. Keep us posted.

    I had to quit taking
I had to quit taking Taxotere. I was convinced if I continued I may not be here now. I had seizures, hallucinations, couldn't speak, couldn't walk felt paralyzed, felt no pain couldn't feel anything. I was lying in bed and had no ideal where I was, had no clue who my family was. My vision would get bright then dark my eyes would cross. I felt like I was above looking down on myself. I felt as if something was crawling on me and inside me. It was terrible, I laid there thinking either God will make me better or take me. I told myself if I get better I will never take Taxotere again.
    Physically I was helpless
Mentally I thought I had lost my mind, as if I had a severe mental illness.
    Spiritually I was strong
    and emotionally I just laughed.

    Vent whenever you need to
Vent whenever you need to Susan. Sorry that you are having trouble with your chemo. I hope you can continue to the finish line with it. Good luck!

    I also hated Taxotere!
I had 4 rounds of C/T, was aiming for 6 but was way too sick. Had all the steroids, anti-nausea, the whole bit. I wasn't really ever nauseated. But had the Big D the entire time, was even in hosp. for 4 days after the second cycle. Felt like I had the worst flu in the world, food tasted disgusting. Could only eat dill pickles and oranges. Lost 30 lbs (that was a good thing lol). I would read how some folks breezed thru theirs, (thank heaven for them!) and wonder why I was so sick. Guess is just an individual thing and we're all different. My Ralph was (and is) and took such good care of me...I literally couldn't get out of bed some days. But it's over, I still maintain it's doable. You had the most extreme reaction I have heard of and I certainly hope you are better now.

Carkris, I agree, lets all hope those meds do their job!

    Hugs, Judy :-)

    Thanks ladies it was
Thanks ladies it was extreme, but I made it with no lasting side effects. I'm great now, had surgery no problems, and not as bad as the dr thought it was so I didn't have to have a mastectomy just a lumpectomy, and I'm glad.
The meds do work. When in chemo just close your eyes and invision the drugs attacking that cancer and killin it, invision wellness.
