    thank you, Lisa...
...for posting this and starting this thread. very thoughtful. holding all of those in the Light, who continue to grieve, for healing of their hearts. Let us continue with loving memories.
My Grandmom, who died in March 1999; bladder cancer, then a stroke after surgery. My Grandmom died 2 1/2 months later, at home, with her only child (my Mother) and 3 of her Grandchildren (me being one of them) by her side.
I still miss you, Grandmom. Your legacy lives on in us, sharing the Love that you've given and taught us.

    cancer in the family
So sad to read of so many who have family members who have died from cancer. Wow- Donna lost both parents to different cancers in their 40's. I have absolutely no one in my family so far who has had cancer. I have the "honor" of being the first.

May everyone who has gone on be in a better place now and may their grieving family members and friends have fond memories of them.

    I'm humbled by your memories
Lisa - thanks for such a comprehensive and sad list. I feel bad that I named such a short one although the people I listed meant a lot to me. Thanks for reminding me and all of us of those others.

    I have a list
on my fridge of the semi-colons I've met in person or talked to on the phone a couple of times (yes you are on that list). That is how I remember some of the names. I missed a few: Nettie42 and Mary come to mind the quickest. Your "short list" made me cry since they were some very special people. I know this thread was for the last year but I couldn't stop that abruptly.

My mom, truly the least selfish person I have ever known

Grandma Marion, the best cook and fun to party with

My mom's cousin Mary Jean, wish I had got to know you

So many family members lost to colon cancer, I feel them cheering me on and felt them with me during my battle every step of the way. I hope they are proud of me.

    in memory and prayer
It saddens me to read of so many wonderful people who lost their battle with cancer. It makes me mad as well because we haven't found a cure yet. I will keep these people in my prayers. When I heard of people who lost their battle it reaffirms in me that we are all on God's time. Some live for years with cancer and others last a few months. It's not how much time we have here but how we have spent our time while here; that's what's important. May God continue to bless you each day, and may you see and recognize those blessing.

    Hi everyone..haven't posted
Hi everyone..haven't posted in awhile...found this site to be very encouraging and supportive during such a difficult time. My mom passed away 7/19/09..colon cancer. She battled 6 years with such a horrible disease. She was a real fighter and trooper...I miss her dearly...not a day goes by that I don't think of her. She left a great legacy for us all.

    Missing my Scott
It's been quite a while since I've responded to any posts, but I still read them. Just wanted to post my husband Scott to the list. It's been 4 1/2 years and he is missed by his family. Love you honey!

And to all the friends we've lost, you are all missed too! Too many :-(

On a happier note, I still see alot of you here!

    Well...not just cancer
Well...not just cancer kills...drunk driver's too (and of course they make it alive, but the innocents who drive safely and not drinking usually don't...):

    In a car accident:
    Dad: 9-11-05 (at age: 31)
    Brother: 9-11-05 (at age: 11)
I was only 9 years old...I thought this was more than enough...but then came the monster (cancer):
    Mom: 6-22-09 (at age: 35)

........there's no single day I don't think of her...I miss her as well as the rest of my family...sometimes I ask: "where did my family go???" Life is not fair at all! But I will become a scientist in the area of cancer and I will give a revenge to cancer!!!!!!! I will study very hard to reach this goal!!!!
