microglandular adenosis

Hello everyone...with all your collective wisdom, do any of you have experience with this diagnosis? A friend has just been told her recent breast lump biopsy reveals that she does not have an active breast cancer but instead has this thoughout her breast. Her surgeon and pathologist admit they have never treated a case before and have sent her tissue to Mayo Clinic.
I have looked it up, but all I can find is that 27% of the time, people with this condition subsequently get breast cancer. Initially, she's been told her options are watch and wait (watch what? this is not detectable with a mammogram) or have a mastectomy. She is 70, with no previous cancer experience.
Anyone out there know anything?
