Hi my friends,

I thought I would just let you all know what is going on with my Prince. He's home...he is keeping his peg-tube feedings down, however, they are still at a lower amount. He is weak and seems to be living mainly in a dream world. I have chosen to reduce his pain medications so that I can see if "Lyle" is anywhere in there. His love for me certainly is...and that is nothing more than a gift from the Lord. When I say, "I love you, Baby!" He responds in the same way he always does, "I love you, too, Honey!" Precious!! When I lean on him...he gently caresses the sides of my face. We made a promise to keep each other...so when I ask him if he is still going to keep me...he gives me an excited, "Yes!" The family continues to come by and see him...one smile since we came home is when he saw our youngest grandson. He wanted the one year old to sit on his lap and he loved it.

This time is difficult. Not knowing if Lyle will rejoin us or if he will be seeing the face of Jesus soon! During a coherant moment I asked Lyle if he has had a talk with God about this time in his life. He said that he had and has just decided to leave it in God's hands. That's my guy!! Faithful in his walk with the Lord even in the difficult times! What a Godly leader he is in our household.

My heart is broken...I think I am missing and greaving him already. During this time...he is just somewhere else. I still have hopes of a rally in his strength and health but am accepting of what our Master's plan is for us.

Susie

    what a prince for sure
    Susie,
Your love for Lyle is just shining from your words. Even in the hard place you are now, you both love and care for each other. My thoughts and prayers are with you and keep hoping that Lyle will get some strength back to enjoy more days with you and your family. Lyle is my kind of Christian. I always put myself or whoever needs it in Gods hands, especially the real difficult times, the only way to stay calm and at peace. Prayers always,

    sincere prayers
    Susie~

I read your post and could not help but smile, altho I did tear up the smile felt really warm in my heart and in your spirit. You DO have a true gift in Lyle, however, what a real, true gift and inspiration YOU are. I can only hope to be as brave and gentle as you. I will have to go back and read some of your previous posts but I know already how similar our lives are if we meet on here. I am not anywhere close to where you are with the cards we have been given, but I aspire to be. I know the Lord, and I trust him, but I am so afraid of what all lies ahead and wonder how I will ever get thru it all with any sanity left at all.

Please know that you and your precious Lyle will be in all my prayers from now on. I know God has us all in his ever loving hands.

God is Blessing Both of You
    Hi Susie and Lyle,
Thanks for the update. I can relate to Lyle being in his "own medicated world". My dad was the same way. His eyes open, looking at you, but his mind way far off somewhere else. I agree with cutting back on the pain meds. They can do a real number on you! Scary a lot of the time. Enjoy these tender moments with Lyle. Live each day for what it is. It is in Gods hands now, and you will all know when Lyle's time has come. Hugs to both of you. I will be thinking of you daily. Come back when you can.

    Oh Susie & Lyle,
    your post

    Oh Susie & Lyle,
your post makes me think of the SIster Teresa quote (I think it is from her) "God doesn't give me more than I can handle----I just wish he wouldn't trust me so much!"
I am so moved by both of you. Cancer is never easy - but how we all attempt to handle it can effect all of those surrounding us (including the one with cancer) in lasting ways---You are living an example of how I "hope" to be if I am in your shoes. thanks for posting even when it is painful. It makes us all send extra prayers for both of you. I am confident that God is present in Lyle's room and there with you as well. I pray he can rest and gain is strength according to the Lord's will.
    God Bless you both,
    Kim

    Susie,
You and Lyle are truly an inspiration! Your love shines through like a beacon through the dark night. You both have shown us how to deal with this horror with dignity and love. May God hold you and Lyle and your family in the palm of his hand.
