Taking a break between chemo and rads.

I finished chemo May 13th and met with the rad onco May 17th. I am scheduled for radiation simulation June 2nd and rads will begin on June 14th. I had a CT yesterday and will get the results when I see the onco on June 3rd. I also hope to get my port out next month. Until then, I am leaving tomorrow morning for our annual road trip to visit family. I'm not sure how everyone will react to how I look now...no hair and minus one boob...but I hope to show them all that I really am okay and then have a week of not dwelling on it. I will miss checking in with you all because I find myself logging on at least twice a day when I'm home.

    Have a wonderful time on your road trip. Sounds like a perfect time to get away from the the treatment schedules for awhile. Enjoy. You are the same person with a few changes in your packaging.

    I enjoyed the break.
    The road trip was great but as Dorothy said "there's no place like home". If my appearance bothered anyone, they were kind enough not to share that info with me. Hopefully the only person bothered by it was me. It's nice to be back home and back in touch with all of you. It helps tremendously having someone to "talk" to that understands what I am going through.

    Welcome back Jamie.Glad the road trip was great. Yes, no matter how great the trip,there is no place like home. HOmecoming gives us another opportunity to appreciate our homes and our regular day to day lives doesn't it? Glad your trip was refreshing.
