Sensitive teeth to cold

My teeth have been sensitive since chemo (FOLFOX, stopped 2 years ago) and neither the Sensodyne toothpastes nor the prescription Prevident 5000 toothpaste is helping. It's mostly an issue when I rinse my mouth, if the water is cool, or if I bite into cold foods.
Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions that I might try? My dentist has run out of ideas.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Alice
I have had sensitive teeth for years now. I always use warm tap water to brush and rinse. Tarter control toothpastes will make this worse. My dentist "paints" my teeth with a medication, I can't remember what it's called that reduces the sensitivity, about twice a year, it does work. And when I go to the dentist, they know to bring me a cup of warm water to rinse with.
