Missed You All
April was a very busy and emotional month for me as I had the big blood draw (where they check for all your important levels), mammogram on the 15th, surgeon on the 20th, CT scan on the 23rd, oncologist on the 29th. Oncologist told me that they did not do a CT of chest because they are trying to reduce radiation levels so I ended up having a chest x-ray on the 29th as well. She called back last Friday and said that they saw something on the x-ray but it was not determined what it was so I had to have a CT scan done on May 5th. She said that everything was fine and it was just scar tissue. I was so relieved. My CEA was less than .0.5. White blood count is still low, but it is slowly going back up, but very slowly. I go in on June 21 for my first colonoscopy since diagnosis in December of 2008, but have had three flex sigs since then and when surgeon did reversal back in November he said he checked and everything looked great. Just want to get that over with too. At least I have several weeks for a breather. Oh yeah, and throw in a dentist appointment in April too
Still having issues with bowel movements and having to go many times a day, but it seems to be mostly at night before bedtime. I haven’t had to cancel anything yet because of bathroom issues, but I do make sure I know where a bathroom is if my tummy feels like it’s not going to be a good day. Going to try and experiment a little with Imodium and pepto chewable tablets. Taking Metamucil just isn’t bulking it good enough, well actually not at all.
Just wanted to let you know I’m back on the board and none of you have ever been away from my thoughts, mind or prayers since my last posting. I missed all of you.
Hugs! Kim

How I've Missed You
Welcome back, Kim:)
I can't tell you how good it is to see you again. I know you're going to roll your eyes at this one but a week or so I was thinking about you and how long you had been gone. I was gonna' PM you, but I hesitated 'cause I thought you had wanted to take a break and I did not want to kick a sleeping dog, LOL:)
I have missed you bunches and you got me to smile big tonight - when I saw your name, heart skipped a beat!
Ok, good - all's right with the world again. Look forward to talking to you after you catch up.
Love/Craig0 -
Hi, Kim
I swear...I was JUST thinking about you a couple days ago; hadn't seen you here on the board. I'm not a very "active" member but I'm here sometimes. Glad you got to go on vacation. I am planning a week long visit in California with my 3 sons and their families. can't wait.

KIM!!!!
It's sooooo wonderful to see you again! I was thinking about you just recently, and wondered if you were ok! I'm glad you and hubby had a great vacation, especially after having all those appointments. I'm sorry to hear about your bathroom issues though, and hopefully, within time, it will get better!
Thanks for the update, and glad to see you back, it's been a sad year with our lost loved ones, but they are in a better place.
Hope to see you back in posting mode!
Hugsss!

Kim, I've been thinking of you, too!
I'm so glad that you and your husband went away for awhile. Even if you had a staycation, that would be good, too. I have those all the time. LOL
I'm so glad your CEA is almost nill. Good luck on your scope on the 21st. One of those most needed things. I go in for a mammo on tomorrow. I've heard horrible stories of those. LOL
I wonder if bowel problems will plague us for the rest of our lives. I really hope not, but I've heard it takes up to two years to get it regulated. I hope it's earlier than that, but since I'm still on chemo, it goes back and forth between diarrhea and constipation. LOL
We missed you but are very understanding why you had to take a break. Glad you're back.0 -

Yeah, great to see ya! I have also had bowel problems, with no gall bladder it's expected. Trying probiotics to try and control it! Stick around!0 -

Your report sounds great! It certainly sounds as if your April was quite a busy month with lots of appointments. BTW-I hate the dentist. Ick.
I am glad you are back on the board and I am finding responding to posts is helping me heal and deal with the loss of my sister.
I continue to pray for NED for everyone on this board.
Blessings,

Good luck on your mammogram. They sure tend to squish those things as flat as a pancake I actually had some brusing until 2 weeks after. Let me know how the tests goes. You are right, the surgeon said that it can take up to two years for the bowels to get back to normal. Sorry you are still having the back and forth issues. Seems your body doesn't know which way to go.

Thank you All
Wow what a wonderful group of people you all are to give me such a warm welcome back. It is great to see the names and faces of you all - just brings a big smile on my face. You all hold such a dear special part of my life and can always count on all of you for the support needed to get through this journey.
Oh my goodness - I really need to update my picture. I still have a Christmas background. Guess I'll just get Craig's Christmas CD out and start playing that again. That CD still brings smiles on my face.

Hi Kim
Almost missed this post, sorry. Welcome back to the board. Wow, you have been a busy girl but am so happy you found time for us. Yes, our losses have been great this year and here you are, just in time, to put a happy face on me. Congratulations on all the good news. Now enjoy our Michigan summer if it ever gets here. Well need to go get packed, going up to Mid-Michigan for the weekend, tornado watch and all. When George says lets go, I can be out the door in half an hour. No more sitting on the couch waiting for him to be sick or something, he is stable, feeling well, so we are enjoying any down time we get from work even if it is just watching an old movie.
Take care and again, Congratulations.
