Frank,
Glad to hear you are
Frank,
Glad to hear you are home. Sorry to hear about the issues that the doctor ran into with the procedure. The pain will get less and less each day. Once you get the catheter out you will feel a lot better. Drink a fair amount of water, and try to walk around as that will help with the recovery. Good luck with the pathology and recovery. Talk soon.

I had open surgery (I believe you had robotics) so I did lose a lot of blood too (over a liter but no transfusion)…The pain for me was worse on the second day because of the gas and then the pain was from my BM starting on the 5 day because of the iron I was taking…More than likely you will pass blood out of your penis (around the cath) when taking a BM and that is normal
AT day 2 I was walking the house 6 x a day for 10 minutes each and rested in bed the rest of the time but by day 4 I was walking the streets with my friend (cath) bag in hand (actually a grocery bag)….I only used the leg bag when I flew back from Chicago after surgery….By week 3 to 4 I was up to over 50 miles a week …
As far as diet I ate my fruits and veggies but I also ate lots of red meat because of the blood loss for about the first 2 weeks then back to my “anti red meat” diet…
Best of luck and the pain should pass a lot today along with your gas and then as I mention above the BM will be the next pain but that will pass too,,,0 -

Welcome to the other side ....You are a cancer survivor!!! Sorry to read that the surgery was more difficult. Did you have the davinci or traditional? Wishing you the best!

Thanks Larry.. Doc said he expects very positive outcome so I consider myself to be lucky.

Well you made it to the other side....it gets easier as the days pass.....sorry you had the pain, I was on tylenol the second day,, did laps around the house, Ed not an issue from the start, but still trying to get the incontinence back to total control...not using pads anymore, but still have some leakage at work, just a few drops is all, which dries on it's own with fruit of the looms...0 -
Well when you start out youfathersson said:Thanks

Well when you start out you should be walking at least 6 times a day for 10 minutes each then as your speed increase I at least added to my distances and reduced the number of times I walked… Got to the 10 mile a day marker by walking 2 x a day…I was told by week 3-4 I should be walking 2 hours a day++ …anyway I believe that walking is key and laying down the first month is key if you are not walking as my surgeon suggested that I would recover better if I lied down when I was not walking and it seemed to work for me…to each they own just my experience0 -
pain
So sorry you are having pain issues.
Jesse has found that the ultracet does well but he alternates some ibuprofen when needed. Cath out today and he is feeling good. Tired from the long car trip. But we are so glad this is over. Now for the 'other' rehab - as the physician assistant called it - working on the ED issue. Got a free pump and some cialis so he will be 'at bat' soon!0 -
