Lung nodule removal

I have a history of invasive squamous cell skin cancer. Have an 8mm lung nodule that hasn't grown in 2 years. For the past 3 years I have had deep red face flushing (only 5 times)and sometimes with wheezing. Liver looks good on Old Pet Scan. Dr. said it was at the base of left lung . Would have to do surgery to get at it. Opinion: Should I have my nodule removed and tested for cancer?
