just an update...my dad (stage3-post chemo-rad & the surgery was 12/09) just had check up (2 days of appts) at Duke--my mom said that the Dr's said he passed with flying colors. He will have PET test at the end June-.. He lost a pound I think but is doing very well overall according to his doctors. My parents even sang Happy Birthday to their oncologist! He will proceed with a round 3 of clean up chemo of Xeloda. He is skinny and not as peppy, but is doing light duty as a volunteer firefighter and works all around the yard, barn house etc---then needs a nap in the afternoon!

My uncle (dad's younger brother) though needs your prayers more than ever. He has been in the hospital for almost 2 weeks with pain other problems. we just found out that the cancer has spread to his bone marrow. It was a very sad day yesterday.

    Kim,
    I am happy to hear

    Kim,

I am happy to hear about your dad and sad to hear the news about your uncle. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. For your uncle I hope he keeps his spirits up, there are so many new treatments today I have a feeling you are going to become an expert on how to help your uncle. Hang in there and keep the faith we are blessed even though we are all faced with this horrible monster.

    Lots of hugs,
    Cindy

    Hi Kim,
congrats to dad! I knew he would do well as soon as I learned he was doing laps around the hospital after his surgery! He is one strong man. Good for him. As for your uncle, my heart goes out to him and his family. Prayers will be being said. It is not his end yet, just another bump in the ec world! Let us know how he is making out.
