Thanks for the kind words and well wishes
It is hard. It's like a huge long goodbye of the person who is half of you. And it's terrible. He cries in the night, and I feel there is nothing I can say. I cannot say it will be alright, because...well, it won't be.
He knows where he will go, but he is worried about us. And honestly, I am worried about the kids and I as I am concerned about our little business.
I'm praying the t shirts become something. Something hopeful. I saw new shirts at md anderson. they said "chemo makes me sick" well DUH but that is not a very positive place to keep your head, you know?
The prayers are appreciated and I believe that our time is not in the hands of doctors, but in the hands of God. And though I don't understand, I'm leaning on him.
Love you all.
Betty

Oh Betty and Layne,
How I
Oh Betty and Layne,
How I wish we were able to spend some quality time together right now. Jim continues to feel better and better. We have NOT heard back from the Dr in San Antonio and we were quite busy with grandkids today, so we'll call tomorrow and see
what is possible.
We just are NOT saying goodbye. At least not now. All the goodbyes will wait. TODAY we are planning on taking a cruise. TODAY we are planning on seeing as much of our extended family as possible. TODAY we are grateful to have each other, hugs, shared humor, nice kids and grandkids and wonderful friends who don't even know us who are praying! We saw some old friends by accident today and they had already heard the news and have asked their prayer warriors to get busy! God is Good and loves us, I know you believe that.
I am glad you have talked to your oncologist. One problem is: MD Anderson is our oncologist! So we are looking for some different options.
We love you both,
Sally & Jim0 -

Hi Betty,
I am sending a big long distance hug to you and Layne and just hope that the chemo can work and maybe he can get the spheres treatment too. You know all of us are praying so much, we want for all of this to get better!!! Don't blame Layne for crying, sometimes you have to let it out. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Are you selling the tee shirts yet? if so where can we buy them? my friend with stage IV lung cancer wants the NED one and I am still trying to decide. But business aside, we all love you and hope that this outcome will be one of the survivor stories being told here soon. love and hugs,

Betty and Layne,
Just wanted
Betty and Layne,
Just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you. God bless both of you. Best of luck in what ever you decide to do. You will never know the outcome if you dont try it! When Layne cries, the best thing would be to just hold him and tell him that you understand why he is crying. You know that he is afraid, so are you. Let him know how much you love him. Let him know that you are both doing all you can. And also learn to not be afraid of the future. Do not be afraid to die. It will be a wonderful experience. He will go to the Kingdom of God. And you Betty, being the very strong independent woman that you are will be just fine. You are determined to be. You will have your business, you will sell your shirts, and you will spread the word of this EC. And together, we all might be able to save someone from this horrible disease, just by making people aware of it. God bless both of you, and remember to live for Today, for tomorrow may not come! Hugs and prayers are being sent. Keep us updated.
