    Well it seems as though it's unanimous... Tamoxifen is the way to do! I will do as Corey suggested and ask my rads oncologist his opinion. I have a very high regard for him. I have an appt with him for a follow up on Tuesday, so I'll see what he says. He also doesn't care much for my oncologist so I'm sure he will give it to me straight. The blood work is something I asked my onc about because I've heard of so many of you having a blood test to see if you were menopausal and he said there wasn't one. I don't understand why he's being such a JERK!

    I agree with what so many said, get a blood test. Your rads oncologist should be able to give you good advice too. So sorry your oncologist is a jerk. You could always go to another one, couldn't you? It is important to trust them and their judgment. Good luck!

    I just saw my onc yesterday and this is what she told me. If you are premenapause you have no choice but to take tamoxifen. If you are post you want to take the Arimidex or Femara because they have a higher effective rate. The question is where is the line between chemo induced and real post. I think that is why some women take the tamo for a year or two then switch. If you are young enough you can start periods again after chemo but the average woman who is peri age or meno age will not ever go backwards. I would think that the bloodwork won't help because you are chemo induced. Your bloodwork should show low hormone levels which doesn't answer the question.

    Since I can't answer that question I will try to make you laugh instead.

    I'm not having a hot flash I am on a very short and private tropical vacation.
