My Sincere Sympathies
Hi Tina,
Thanks for posting. I was so happy to see that people could make donations to the EC patient support group. That is great. Hang in there sweetheart, it does get a little easier each day. Think of how much Ray and Scott can talk about now that they are together! They have had so much in common, now they can spend eternity together as well. Love and hugs to you and your family.

Tina,
I am so sorry to hear about your dad passing away. You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that GOD will give you strength to endure your hardship.
Tina, there are SO MANY similarities in our families. We are from the Pittsburgh area, same as you. My husband, Roy was also 56 years old when he passed away of complications from EC surgery at Presby Hospital (also with Dr. Luketich) on December 5, 2009. My youngest daughter is also 23 years old and very much a "Daddy's girl". Roy was also a school bus mechanic, like your dad. He also developed pneumonia and ARDS too after his surgery, also on kidney dialysis....the similarities go on and on.
Please remember all the special times you spent with your dad. What a special bond a "Daddy's girl" has with her daddy!
Try to inquire at the funeral home about a necklace called a "THUMBIE". They will take a thumbprint of your dad and put it on a silver charm, with his name and birth date and death date inscribed on it. I have one and so do my two daughters. I'm sure it would be very comforting to you to have your dad's thumbprint around your neck. If you need info on this necklace, I can get it for you.
Also, ask for a locket of his hair to keep.
Again, my prayers are with you and your family. I'm right here with you, so if there is ANYTHING I can do for you, please just let me know.
Lots of hugs and prayers,
Trish
P.S. Remember: "They whom we love and lose are no longer where they were before. They are now .... WHEREVER WE ARE". You may have some LONELY days ahead, but you will never be ALONE. Your dad will ALWAYS be with you.0 -
