Hi Becky,
I am so glad that you are done with your chemo. You and I had the same exact chemo. medications. I will be finishing radiation this week and will continue with herceptin until October. I too have been on zoloft for years and my onc. discussed it with my doctor and they are going to have me stay on zoloft and take tamoxifen. They said it would not have much effect on the tamoxifen. What does your onc. say about zoloft and tamoxifen?
Marjorie
Yes, we were on the same cocktail and I am soooo glad to be done. As far as the tomoxifen and Zoloft, my Onc says I have to get off the Zoloft while on Tomox. When I went for my second opinion clinic while in Chemo, that Oncol said he feels Zoloft has little effect on Tomox. I hear it both ways, which is frustrating. My onc is switching me to effexor while on tomox. I'm nervous, and I know everytime we hear a contradicting opinions it makes us wonder. I am going to ask, if it is no big deal why are there so many different opinions? What are the pros and cons, and why is the decision being made to make the change. I guess I want to know what the Drs are basing thier opinions on? I am going to see my Dr, (Internal Specialist) today. This is one discussion I am going to have. I want him to be my quarterback in this process. I will keep you updated.

Congrats Becky--onto the next step. I was just put on effexor for the night sweats from the tamoxefin so hopefully when you get on tamoxefin you wont have the sweats to deal with.
Best of luck
Sher

Congratulations on Completing Chemo!
Yea, Becky!! I am a year out from chemo-versary and can remember the excitement and relief and joy. You and your family celebrate. Nothing is harder than what you just completed.
I did not take Herceptin so can't advise you on that. But, yes, the worst is over. Rads are not a breeze. It has its own challenges, and you will find plenty of info and advice here, in new and previous posts. I sure did. But, again, you've scaled the highest mountain. It's all downhill from here.
Congratulations again!0 -
