Please keep her in your prayers, she was such a daddy's girl and he was only 56.
I think he won EC battle but other complications set in if you will look back on her post.
Please pray for her.

Tina---know that your dad is OK now---so sorry you have to go through this "earthly" pain. He will be fine---us left behind---have to "trust' and I don't think it is always easy
your csn friends love you just the same....
a poem I ran across--
“WHAT GOD HAS PROMISED”
God has not promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;
God has not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
But God has promised strength for the day,
Rest for the weary, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.”

Tina,
I am so sorry to hear about your dad passing away. You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that GOD will give you strength to endure your hardship.
Tina, there are SO MANY similarities in our families. We are from the Pittsburgh area, same as you. My husband, Roy was also 56 years old when he passed away of complications from EC surgery at Presby Hospital (also with Dr. Luketich) on December 5, 2009. My youngest daughter is also 23 years old and very much a "Daddy's girl". Roy was also a school bus mechanic, like your dad. He also developed pneumonia and ARDS too after his surgery, also on kidney dialysis....the similarities go on and on.
Please remember all the special times you spent with your dad. What a special bond a "Daddy's girl" has with her daddy!
I don't know what funeral home you are using, but inquire there about a necklace called a "THUMBIE". They will take a thumbprint of your dad and put it on a silver charm, with his name and birth date and death date inscribed on it. I have one and so do my two daughters. I'm sure it would be very comforting to you to have your dad's thumbprint around your neck. If you need info on this necklace, I can get it for you.
Also, ask for a locket of his hair to keep.
Again, my prayers are with you and your family. I'm right here with you, so if there is ANYTHING I can do for you, please just let me know.
Lots of hugs and prayers,
Trish
P.S. Remember: "They whom we love and lose are no longer where they were before. They are now .... WHEREVER WE ARE". You may have some LONELY days ahead, but you will never be ALONE. Your dad will ALWAYS be with you.0 -

Hi Tina my dear friend,
Just read the news. So very sorry for your loss. We all knew in the back of our minds this was coming didnt we? Shoot! The thing that gets me so upset is that it was not the EC, it was the ards. Now this very well could have been avoided. He is now in a much better place, he is no longer in pain, he is no longer suffering. He is no longer lost in space from all of the pain meds. We will all meet again. Now he and my dad can meet and spend eternity together! Love and hugs to you your mom and your family. You all did an excellent job caring for him. We love you here. Come back when you can.
