I lost my aunt last night
I am here to ask for prayers to keep me strong!! My aunt passed away for breast/lung cancer last night. During the entire time that Al was sick I had been talking to her on a regular basis, NOT ONCE DID SHE INDICATE TO ME THAT SHE WAS ALSO VERY SICK AND THAT SHE WAS HAVING CHEMO AND RADIATION. SHE DIDN'T WANT ME TO HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT HER, MY OTHER AUNT JUST RECENTLY TOLD ME EXACTLY HOW SICK SHE WAS.
I NEED TO BE BRAVE, I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS. I PRAY THAT I WILL BE STRONG ENOUGH TO SEE HER TO SAY GOOD BYE.
I HAVE HAD SO MUCH SADNESS IN MY LIFE LATELY. SO AGAIN PLEASE PRAY TO GOD THAT I CAN DO THIS
I AM SURE MY FAMILY WOULD UNDERSTAND IF I DON'T BUT I HAVE TO TRY.
THANK YOU,
AND GOD BLESS,
KATH

My Aunt lives just 10 min. away, with Al being so sick I really couldn't visit. I would call
her with updates or she would call me.
Her oldest son live in California and we are waiting for his arrival.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
God Bless,

Kath,
You have many prayers
Kath,
You have many prayers coming to you in this time of need --- right now I think of that footprints in the sand poem speaking about how in our greatest time of need we are not alone but being carried by God who never abandons his children.
Sometimes I think that with all going on in my life, work, financial teenager problems, my dad's cancer that I could just scream and run away where I would have no responsibilities and noone could find me. I do hold on to the saying that God never gives you more than you can bear and I find myself asking God some days . . . I really appreciate your confidence in my abilities to handle problems but do you think perhaps you could let up on me a little bit and challenge someone else? Of course then I am reminded to stop complaining and remember that there are others facing much greater difficulties and I think of you and others on this site who have lost their husbands and feel humbled.
I cannot imagine the pain of losing Al and now finding out that your dear Aunt protected you from her battle so you could focus all your attention on Al. I think I can read between the lines that she didn't want to burden you, because she knew you would feel torn and want to help her as well as Al, and she lovingly gave you the gift of time with Al and the chance to care for him during his darkest hours without wondering if you needed to be with another family member. What a wonderful and loving Aunt. And I can certainly guess that if you cannot gather the strength to attend her funeral -- that loving Aunt would understand and never want you to feel bad or guilty. She gave you that wonderful gift in life and I am sure that her wish to spare you grief and sorrow continue as she is with the angels.
So if you feel led to attend her funeral and are able to go --- do so. But, if it is too much to bear right now, I am sure that your Aunt would understand and support any decision you would make. And it is okay to cry for not just your Aunt but for Al too.
Prayers and hugs for you,

I am so sorry to hear
Kath,
I am so sorry to hear about your aunt. You were SO strong thru Al's illness, that strength is still there. I will be thinking of you, and saying a few extra prayers.

Hi Kath,
Another loss so close to your losing Al. What a brave woman your aunt sounds like, trying to keep her troubles to herself. I will be praying for you and your family and I am sure they will understand if you explain how difficult this is to you. My prayers for you always,

My Sympathies
Hi Kath,
So sorry for your recent loss. You are a very strong, caring, loving, woman. I know that you will be able to attend her funeral. It will make you feel better to go. You will feel bad if you do not go. You can now give comfort to your family, as they gave to you. You can return this comfort to them. Actually you can all comfort each other. Remember that they are both in a better place now, no pain, no suffering. My dad is there with them as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Also enjoy the time with family. You should also celebrate your aunt's life. Think of all of the fond memories. All of the fun times. Keep us updated. Hugs to you.

I'm so sorry that you didn't know your aunt was so ill and that you lost her. I hope you are finding joy somehow in your day. I am going to pray specifically that joy is what you will find...even in the darkest of times.
