Hi all! Yes, once again I am asking for support. On Monday I have my 6 month PET scan, and am getting VERY anxious. I know I have been healed by His stripes, yet anticipation really stinks! I am going to do the PET, then go for the Gemini/MRI scan. I am so happy for all
the good news that has been posted on this site. I pray I can be another testimony that this
devastating disease cannot defeat me. I have a birthday in a week, and all I wish for is good results. I know. in my heart, I have more work to do on this Earth, yet, I am being a wimp. Please pray for me, as I an wavering between uncertainty and strength. I can be this candid because you all have been where I am now - and worse.
I am thankful I will have the results by the afternoon from Mt Sinai, NYC.
Thank you, any advice is welcomed, as are your prayers. God bless you all! You have all become my family! Stay strong, and press forward in Faith! (I'm trying.) Patty

Rest-easy, Patty. Too early for anything real to show- anything which does should be held as very potential false-positive. My 6-month revealed "something may have shown below your tongue;" but, my Oto said it was too early, and the area is common to false-positives. My last PS results were gotten today: CLEAN, now a year after the last rad. Peace be with you, Patty. The likelihood of a false-positive, so early, would seem to outweigh that of any real positives that might show= there is no need to be anxious.

    Pet Scan
The first scan is a scary time; however do not be alarmed if something should show up on it. By this I mean not being the cancer. My first scan showed a hot spot in the area of the trauma where my PEG was located. I do not do PET scans now as they sometimes reveal things that are not there. I am just past three years out of treatment now and my ENT just uses a scope to check my throat when I am having a check up. Be positive and expect to hear good results. As you appear to be a person of faith, continue to have faith that God has got you thus far and he will continue to do his work. God Bless

    Happy Dance
    Hi Patty,

Rest up this weekend because on Monday you will need all the strength you have for the happy dance we will all be doing when you get a good report from your scan. You are not being a wimp, I'm sure all of us are nervous and expect the worst before each scan.

The only advice I can give you is to keep your mind occupied, read a good book, watch a funny movie, talk with friends. Whatever it takes to keep your mind occupied. I just kept telling myself that it did no good to worry about something I had no control over. Easier said than done ;-) You will do great, I know, because He is watching over you.

    You WILL kick cancers butt!!!

As always, you will be in my prayers. Relax my friend and enjoy life.

Trust that He has not brought you this far to abandon you on Monday. Worry is not wimpy unless you do it Professionally - my wife calls me Mr. Safety. But I am better - last week I had an anxious 72 hours after a blob showed up on my chest xray and it took three days to track down an old one for comparison. It was ok. Yes, I was scared but worked out, stayed real real busy, prayed for peace of mind and talked it over with two confidants - a far cry from the old days, two years ago, when I would have freaked out. I'm trying to learn to not let this monster rob me of my now. Enjoy your weekend! And I definitely agree with others about not overreacting to any artifacts that might show up - sometimes that happens early on. Prayers for strength and peace of mind on their way to you.

    You are so right Vince!
I try not to let the anxiety get the better of me. I am so glad everything worked out with your chest Xray! Whew! It is an emotional rollercoaster!
I have been so busy visiting and fighting for my Mom at the nursing home & hospital, I had no time to dwell on my health. But my Sis drove up to help out, so I guess I had too much free time on my hands! Lol! Idle hands.... you know? It is true!
She does not remember I have cancer, which is a blessing.
Thank you for your post, and thank you for the prayers.
God bless you and keep you healthy! Patty

    Patty,
Looks like we're both hoping for good news Monday afternoon. I'll get my results from my first post-treatment (one month out) CT.

I'll be thinking of you, and hoping we both have cause to celebrate.

Also like you, trying to press forward.

    Do well,

    Pam

I agree that He has gotten me this far, in fact He has carried me quite a few times!
I am glad to hear your health is so good three years out. Thank you Jesus! I see the ENT each month for a scope, but my copays are adding up quickly. I will decide once I get this clean PET on Monday which way to go. Your kind, confident words are much appreciated!

    Hi Patty
Wishing you all the best as you go for your PET and Gemini/MRI scan, just remember Ps:23:4: though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me. I am glad that we have Jesus as our friend that no matter what comes in our way we can go through it with him by our side.

I will be praying for you as always

    Hey Hondo!
Yes! I love my Psalms - as you know! Thank you!

"I will fear no evil for my God is with me
And if my God is with me
    Whom then shall I fear?"

Thanks for being my friend in faith! You always have the right words! God bless Hondo!

    Hey Scam!
Glad to hear you are well Scambuster! I will be looking forward to those goosebumps - for sure. I am more centered today after attending service, which has given me strength, and renewed my spirit!
I will be getting up at 4:30 am tomorrow ( I can eat til 5am) and off Manhattan at 7am. Unfortunately, my hubby becomes a "NYC Cab Driver" as soon as he hits the Verrazzano Bridge. This should be fun - especially in rush hour traffic! Yikes! I keep my eyes closed most of the way! Lol!
Thanks for the good light - will let you know when those goose bumps hit! :)
    Stay well! Patty
