Hi, I was trying to find a support group for young survivors. I was wondering if there were any good resources to finding these groups. Can someone please direct me?

I'm in northern california - if that helps.

Thanks,
Ryan

    Young Cancer Support Groups
Dear Ryan, I'm an employee of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NY and came across your post requesting information on support groups and resources for young cancer survivors.

The National Cancer Institute is a good place to start - here's their page on resources for adolescents and young adults with cancer: http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/aya/coping

One highly regarded group for young adults with cancer is I'm Too Young For This, which has a chapter in Northern California: http://i2y.com/index.shtml

Memorial Sloan-Kettering also offers a page of recommended links that may interest you: http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/50488.cfm?CategoryID=2391&x=11&y=5.

I hope this information is useful and wish you the best of luck in finding the support you need. -Esther
