So sorry Tina,
Tina,
I am so sorry that they didn't listen to you in the first place!!!It makes me very angry.
Now your dad has to suffer for it. Thankfully he is at Presby now and is in very good had, a little improvement every day is better then none.
I word of advise for an old pro YOU MAKE THEM LISTEN, I HAD TO THROW A FIT ONCE WHEN AL GOT ASPIRATION PNEUMONIA AND TOLD THEM WE WEREN'T LEAVING UNTIL I EITHER TALKED TO DR. CHRIST WHO IS DR. L'S RIGHT HAND MAN, NEEDLESS TO SAY HE WAS DOWN IN THE ER IN 10 MINUTES. YOU GET NAMES AND ANY INFO YOU CAN ON ANYONE WHO ISN'T LISTENING TO YOU AND YOU REPORT TO THEM!! JUST THROW A FIT I WORKED FOR ME!!!
YOU TAKE CARE AND MAKE SURE TO GET REST.
GOD BLESS,
KATH0 -
HANG IN THERE AND FIGHT FOR YOUR DAD I DID
Tina,
i am so sorry to hear this about your DAD, I too had to fight for my father in the same kind of situaiton at one time. I am like Kathy throw a fit, go to the head administrator, I did with my father before he passed at the hospital he was in, and head administrators, don't like to get bad reports on patient circumstances, cause it make them look bad if you don't complain and throw a fit, then the next patient might not do as well. We never thought we would have to take care of our parents after they took care of us for 18 years or longer but you have to be strong on this and do it, you will be surprised the old saying goes the wheel that squeaks the loudest is the one that gets the job done, so go out there and DO IT TINA.
I don't know what ARDS is so I would like to know for furture, if you or anybody can explain it to me.
You have more than a bump you have a BIG HURDLE TO CROSS, when you don't post nothing on FB i get worried and think the worse. I truly know how hard this is on you, i had kids at home when my father was so bad, but working in a hospital i know the ins and outs of things, and what i can and cannot do.
here is a instance I had on Jeff during one of his outpatient procedures, they were preping him for his outpatient surgery, the tech could not get his IV started after 2 times, and laid the needle on the bed and she said I am going to try this one more time and I SAID NOT WITH THAT NEEDLE YOU ARE NOT, THAT IS CONTAMINATED AND YOU ARE NOT STICKING HIM WITH THAT, she looked at me like how do you know this, until i told her who i worked for which keep in mind i worked for the same hospital he was getting operated on.
So you see tina unless you throw fits, they will get away with anything.
My prayers are with you and your family, and keep us posted about dad we love you all
Love and prayers
Lori
OKAY IF ANYBODY NEEDS MORE INFO LET ME KNOW I AM PRETTY PERSISTENT
ps, the other inside of this is when Jeff was in ICU himself I am the one that found his SINUS INFECTION, AND BROUGHT THAT TO THEIR ATTENTION, so don't let nobody run over you and remember this:PUT YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES ON AND FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT, AND IF YOU NEED A NEW PAIR I AM SURE I CAN SEND SOME YOUR WAY.
BIG GIRL PANTIES, ARE AWESOME THEY DO ALOT FOR YOU, EVEN IF THEY START SLIPPING PULL THEM UP MORE AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.0 -

Dearest Tina,
WOW!!! that is the first thing I want to say. Now...let me take a deep breath, count to ten, and tell you that you are doing a fantastic job!! That hospital on the other hand......NO. Three cheers for Kath and Lori! You go get em girls! Unbelievable!!! You do whatever you have to do to report that hospital, those drs, those nurses. That is in now way acceptable. By the way....how is your poor mom holding up? Give her a big hug. MY GOSH!! I am steaming mad here, you must just be out of your mind. Hang on there sweetheart, keep keeping on, say a lot of prayers, put this in God's hands. Please let us know what is going on with dad. I do not like the fact that he is critical. I am saying a prayer for all of you right now. Hugs and love to all of you.
