William, I "thought" the bike situation was a dead end until this morning when I went into our bedroom to see if my husband would like breakfast and he immediately brought this bike issue up AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! He said " I do not care what Dr. O'connor says I can do or not, I want the bike, you said you would buy me on and I want it NOW". Oh boy William, this went into another heated discussion and honestly it really got me mad. He just got home from a hospital stay for two days and this is the only thing he can think about. He started with " I am appreciated of all you have gone through for me but I only started chemo back in December with knowing that I would be getting a motorcycle soon". I almost smacked him!!! He started chemo for a bike and not for us??????? Is he kidding or what? Now he is not talking to me again and honestly William, I do not care. If this is the way it is with him then fine, we will not speak other than medical issues. He is one stubborn man, he said he will ride the bike when he is done with chemo, does he not get it, he is too weak and has lost almost 90 pounds??? I also mentioned we have not had any income since he left his job October 7th but he wants to ignore this subject. Well, I am going out today to have lunch with my sister and move on. Just thought you might like to know what is happenening. As always William, I appreciate your honestly and advice.

William "you made my day"!!!!unknown said:This comment has been removed by the Moderator
I just read your reply to my post and honestly William, you made me laugh so hard, I haven't had a laugh like that in a long time!!!!!!! You make sense though, he is unrealistic and honestly, if I didn't have someone like you to make me laugh, I would cry. You make so much sense to me at a time that is so hard. Ed is a very very stubborn man, always has been, must be the Polish in him, and to the day he dies, he will always be stubborn!!!! I wish I could buy him such a bike but honestly, it would not be in his best interest looking at such a bike sitting in the driveway and him realizing that he is not fit to get on it and ride. He has not ridden a bike in over 30 years and this is just a pipe dream of his. When I told him back at Xmas that I may, and left me emphasize may, buy a bike, I never in a momement thought he would be down another 40 pounds and sicker. I am brand new at this cancer thing and yes, it does destroy peoples dreams, but yes, he is a sicker man than in December and no, I will not buy it no matter how mad he gets because I honestly believe it would make him more depressed than he is, not being able to actually ride it. it is like giving someone someting that they only can look at, how horrible is that.
You have made me laugh tonight and wow, I really needed it. By the way, Ed came downstairs tonight with us and watched tv., I am wondering if he is trying to get me in another way, you know what I mean, butter me up and then again, BLAST ME with that bike issue again. I only hope and pray and he will give this subject up and become the husband and father that he used to me with the time that he has left with us. I miss my old husband as I am sure my daughter misses her old Dad. Everyday that passes, I feel so bad that we have all missed out on another day as a family, like we used to be. Stage four cancer patients have the most difficult time because I believe from the day they are told of their diagnosis and prognosis, they feel doomed in someway and some, such as Ed, have a hard time digging deep and fight their horrible demons. I pray everyday that Ed will dig down deeper and deeper and find his own strength. He is the only one that can do this, no one else can.
Thanks William for the laugh. I appreciate your words of wisdom everytime you write.

This beast we call Cancer, is horrible, especially in a marriage, they think just because they are sick with cancer we need to bend down and cater to them, Jeff also is going through this stubborn thing and has caused us many problems, which I will not post on this site, but know I am where you are.
Yes William is one heck of a person, just when I don't think I can go any further he pulls something out of his hat.
Just know I wish and hope for the best for you and your daughter because I know what is and has happened in my life.
Take Care if you need help just private me.

Hi Linda,
I am so sorry you and Diane and your husband are having these problems. I wonder if anyone you know could help out. Would he settle for a ride in a sidecar next to a Harley? just a thought. If you went to a bike shop, cyclists are so kind and helpful maybe someone would know a person who wouldnt mind taking your hubby out for a ride on the road. He would get the wind in his face and some of the sensation without the danger. Just a crazy thought. I wonder if your husband's brain is not affected by the cancer and it has stuck like a needle on a record. When my late brother had passed a blood clot to his brain, he kept asking me to get him pizza then the clot must have moved and he stopped. I will be praying for you and hoping that there are more family moments. Cancer is so scary but most of us worry about how our families are suffering and try not to cause them anymore worry or trouble because they are getting dragged down this terrible bumpy road with us. You are one strong woman and so is your daughter. take care, prayers always,

Hi Linda,
God most definitely has blessed the two of you girls. Keep asking for God's help and guidance during this most difficult time. You are very strong! I admire you. There are support groups out there, I am sure, that you and Dianna could go to. How to deal with a difficult cancer patient. Ask at your hospital or local cancer society. My heart does go out to Ed. I pray for him daily as well. Like you said, this is not the husband or father you remember. Please know that we are all thinking of you, Dianna, and Ed. Best of luck to all of you. Keep us posted.
