Colon Cancer Mets Surgery Great Results

Long-term survival can be expected after R0 resection of pulmonary metastases

I saw these articles earlier and thought I'd share this encouraging news. I especailly like this portion.
The longer a person with metastatic cancer lives, the more likely that he or she will be around to benefit from new medical advances designed to turn cancer into a manageable, chronic disease, not something that greatly shortens life. Along with better and longer life, the surgery study also offers something that all cancer survivors need and deserve to have: Hope for the future.

Thanks for the info. How do you come up with this stuff? The only thing I ever find is stuff that offering hope to the hopeless with promises of a cure and we all know that just aint' so, if there was a cure, everyone would be doing it. Tina

    Thanks for the hopeful info
Thanks Diane for this info and for your reply to my 3rd time... post. Now i am again wondering why the oncs say his lesions are inoperable (seems the number was the deciding factor- 10+) and chemo seems to be the only option. He does have multiple nodules in both lungs but the are almost all measured in millimeters with maybe 2 or so that are a cm in size? cant they take out some of them? and what about rfa or what is this cyber knife i read in a post somewhere? also another question... hubby is probably going to balk at doing chemo much longer cuz he cant stand the ill feeling... but is it possible to do erbitux by itself without the camptosar? anyone do this?
