    Lisa, I'm sorry to hear
Lisa, I'm sorry to hear about your experience. When you called your PCP, did she ask you to come in the office? Since all of your tests came back normal, do you think it could have been stress? Whatever the case may be, take care of yourself and I'll be thinking of you.

    Hey Lisa,
I've been following this and wondering how your BP is today. Gosh I pray you're feeling better! That had to be terrifying! I'm glad the woman caught you.

It sure sounds like very low BP. Tho dehydration and blood sugar would do the same thing.

A doctor once told me that our blood sugar will give off a false high when under stress or ill.

    Hi Sheri,

My PCP office set up an appt for me for Wed. a.m. I spoke at length with her nurse, though, with regards to the medication dosage, etc. She had me take my bp on my home bp machine, my temp, etc. Fortunately, all was normal today.
I have a very upset stomach today, though, which I'm sure has nothing to do with all that. I had put myself on my leftover Xeloda & have been on it a week and a half now, so that's probably what's bothering my gut.

I haven't heard back from Health Net yet re. my appeal to the gemzar denial- I'm going to call them in a couple of hours if I don't hear from them first.

    3 symptoms i noticed
    1) you have seen your glucose levels too low and or too high.

    2) you mention being so thirsty you can't get enough and or when you do drink plenty of fluidsf seems you need to have the restroom nearby or curtail from drinking so you can get errands accomplished.

    3) blood pressure medicine has been adjusted. you were having high blodd pressure then this event takes place and you appear to record a very low blood pressure.

i would definately be pursuing testing related to diabetes. i'm not aware of blood pressure medication causing a fluctuations of this magnitude in your glucose levels. if for instance you do have some type of diabetic issue glucose levels can rise and or fall to dangerous and symptomatic levels.also if diabetic issues are all ruled out then an adjustment of blood pressure medication may be needed? your on the right track by mentioning all this to your doctor and as soon as possible.

    Walmart
Walmart will make anyone get dizzy standing in those long lines, LOL :)

But seriously, Lisa, that must have been something - stretched out on the floor, sweating and unable to move.

A guy above my post mentioned diabetes as a possible cause. I'm wondering if there could be something to this. I've seen this on Kim's old soap operas - extreme thirst and drinking alot of fluids but never getting really satisfied from so much liquid. And the fainting spells. I also read this in MSN Health or CNN Health or one of those sites and those are symptoms of diabetes.

So good that you are getting that info to the doctor, maybe they can test you for that. I've bent over and stood back up and get lightheaded sometimes too. I used to have bad bouts with VERTIGO. You start sweating, the room starts spinning, you get real queasy and nauseous and you have to lay down and ride it out till it passes. That mostly is inner ear related.

But what I'm saying is that I know the bend over, straighten up, get dizzy scenario.

I hope you do not have something else to contend with on top of everything else. Like everyone, we eagerly await your findings. Time to put the buggy in hubby's hands with the kids in tow, while Mom stays at home on the couch "coolin' out."

I'm glad someone was there to help you when you needed it.

    Thanks Everyone
Thank you everyone who commented and gave advice.
I have an appt. w/ my PCP this Wed. and will discuss all possibilities. I will also discuss the concerns w/ blood sugar & will request to have testing for that done, even if she doesn't think that's a concern. I would feel better knowing.

    Diabetes?

    Re:
    1. "My blood pressure was 70/49 when they first checked it in the ambulance. "

    2. "I was just in ER 5 weeks ago for dangerously high blood pressure!
My primary care doc upped my BP meds and so I guess now they were
working too well & made the BP way too low."

    3. "All tests and bloodwork came back normal in the hospital, so it's
    probably the bp meds."

What's with people assuming you now you have diabetes too?

Low BP can kill you. I got dehydrated in "Recovery" after the ICU,
and my BP got so low, they couldn't get a pulse. They ignored my
complaints that my skin was tenting, and that I hadn't urinated in
three days. I was passing out, couldn't move, and had trouble
talking above a slight whisper; That's what low BP does.

Too much BP lowering drugs, and you're fainting and showing all
the signs of low BP.... Dehydration will cause low BP.

This same scenario took place a number of years ago with our
neighbor. She had BP meds from one doctor, and her other
specialist prescribed BP meds. She never said that she was
already taking BP meds... She spent a night in the ER due to
    passing out..

Why this worrisome speculation about diabetes?

The cause sure looks pretty obvious to me!

I think John23 is probably right on target. A few yrs ago my husband was taken to the ER from work. They immediately thought it was his heart( mid 40's, etc.) and called in a cardiologist. He was placed on 2 BP meds....one was a beta blocker called Atenolol(sp?) and can't remember the name of the other. Fast frwd a couple of days...they finally found out that he didn't have any heart disease or problems but had a rare antibiotic resistant infection in the pleura surrounding his lungs.

Problem was they forgot to take him off of the BP meds. When I took him to the pulmonary doc a week later his BP was 70/50.No wonder he was sleeping so much, he was almost dead!

I tend to think your BP med dose might be just a tad too high. Just my opinion for sure.....I wish good things for you. You are a brave heart;)
