I am coming up on my Two Year Birthday as I have come to grips with cancer being a part of my life, and not defining my life. Lately I've been frustrated about what I can do to make an impact, so I decided to DO something about it within my own scope of influence.
Honestly, I didn't know about the Relay for Life that the ACS sponsors. As much of a Public Service Announcement as I am regarding Malignant Melanoma, I'm now getting out there and yelling even more loudly! I can't think of a better 2nd birthday present to give myself!
Normally, team participants trade-off throughout the 24 hour walk. I am bound and determined to walk those 24 hours myself. Of course during the day covered up with my sunscreen hats and clothing, but if this is what it takes to show those around me I'm serious about this, then so be it!
If there is an event near you, take a chance and you might surprise yourself! If you want to be part of the virtual cheering section at my Event, then click away!

Hi Tirian,
I'm a big fan of RFL and have been a volunteer for several years now (even before my cancer experience}. It is a wonderful event and I love being a part of it as a team member as well as a volunteer. If you have any questions about Relay, feel free to let me know!
