neuropathy (feet & hands) after treatment
4 - 6 months. Husband just completed 12 rounds of Folfox, he seems to think it is
a little worse, or at least he feels well enough to notice...

Gets worse for about a month
Gets worse for about a month and then takes a long time to get better. I'm 7 months out and my fingertips are still number. My feet have not gotten better but I don't notice it anymore. Feels like wet sand in my socks.0 -
My husband still has 2 more
My husband still has 2 more treatments to go,but for now, neuropathy really bothers him,the other day,he even couldn't feel his feet. The oncologist says he has medication,if needed,he can priscibe.I think we will ask at next appointment.0 -
I finished my 12th treatment
I finished my 12th treatment of FOLFOX about 3 weeks ago. The neuropathy in my hands was not too severe and has gotten better. But I've noticed that my feet feel a little more "slushy" that they did during treatment. I'm a little unsteady on my feet. Your husband may be right in thinking that since he feels better in general, he may be more aware of this individual side effect. I hadn't thought of that.
Take care. It will take time, but we will get better.

I don't recall noticing the tingling and numbness in toes andCrow71 said:I finished my 12th treatment

bottoms of feet til after surgery and it increased when second (postop) round of chemo (FOLFOX) began, getting more intense in toes and feet bottoms with onset in left hand which fortunately subsided soon. Still have neuropathy in feet(2 more doses of chemo to go); it might have started during first round (preop)of chemo but I was so messed up then, tumor still up my ****, that I may not have ever noticed it then as I was in so much pain elsewhere.Still, I'd rather have this in my feet than the cancer up my colon!!!!!Maybe it will go away; it hasn;t gotten any worse- toes feel like slabs of cement......steve
PS:I still think nanotechnology holds much promise in potentially being able to target cancer cells only and not causing damage to healthy cells as chemo and rad do......0
