Best of luck with the hernia repair Raquel. My hubby had one Feb 1, they did it laproscopically, he was in the hospital one night, then home the next day. Make sure you get lots of pain pills.....You will do fine.

Hopefully it will be easy. Is it outpatient? My daughter had hernia surgery at age 5 for a double inguanal (sp?) hernia on both sides of her lower pelvic area. It was outpatient & she had to take it easy for a couple of weeks. Hope yours is as simple.

I've heard that many people who have the colon recection surgery often expeience a hernia above the navel...
