Saw both surgeons for pre-op, went to hospital for pre-admission forms and tests...every thing still a go for surgery (colostomy, total hysterectomy and tumor removal) on March 19.
Also finally got up the nerve to tell my family (grown son and daughter with families of their own, and 85 yr old parents) what my health situation is and about the surgery. Had been dreading that.
The next thing on my dread list is the day of bowel prep before surgery...yuck!
When I went hospital for the pre-admission it was on Friday, so I was wearing my all BLUE outfit...got to park in the BLUE parking lot instead of the grey. When they gave me a pink bracelet for the blood work id, told them I would prefer BLUE and why.
Hope that BLUE day was a happy one for all here.
On the count down now for this next milestone, recovery and moving on with living!

you sure sound like such a strong women and that's the prototype of beating this aweful disease. i remember also when i was diagnosed and making them dreaded phone calls. my Mom, whos had to deal with loosing **as well aa all of us** but Mom lost her husband, step daughter and my brother. it was so sad to see and witness there path and Mom has been so affected by this. anyway, i literally hated the fact i needed to call her. it was so emotional and i remember clear as yesterday having to do so. good luck with your surgery and were all here for you.
