Any idea what nonspecific rectal wall thickening might indicate?

I have no idea, though I had it. It turned up on the radiologist's report on a CT scan, and the radiologist recommended a colonoscopy. I had the colonoscopy, but my gastroenterologist said he saw no sign of the rectal wall thickening. Two CT scans later, the radiologist reported that the thickening was no longer present. So, I had a brush with, uh, something.
