waiting, wondering and searching

Hello everyone. I have an endometrial biopsie scheduled for Friday and am wondering if what I have been experiencing is familiar to any of you.
I had my last period 14 months ago after years of perimenopause. Irregular and heavy bleeding. I was thrilled to have gone over a year with no period! I had hot flashes, chin hairs and got up every few hours at night to pee. Then a couple of weeks ago I got a period! Not fair!! I had tender breasts, pimples and mild cramps. Needless to say I was less than thrilled! I saw my gyn and had a ultrasound. My endometrium was a little thick at 6mm and cysts on my ovaries that will be reevaluated by ultrasound in a few weeks. Off and on for about 5 years I have had a pain low in my back and extending down the outside of my left thigh that no amount of over the counter pain meds could touch! Sometimes the pain was so bad when I first would stand up that I almost fell down. Driving is horrible! My gyn thought it might have been caused by fibroids but I was too busy at work to go for an ultrasound and just ate tylenol like candy and forgot about it until the next time it flared up. Needless to say it has been more than 3 years since I last saw my gyn. Does any of this sound like what you have experienced?
Thank you so much for sharing your stories and your knowledge!

    MJB,

Your symptoms can be symptoms of several different things. Do not panic until the biopsy is over and done with and you get the Pathology report.

Some of us on this board have the same diagnosis with very different to completely no symptoms! So it will just stress you out to assume your symptoms match up with someone here who has received a Cancer diagnosis.

    Trust me on this :)

We await your news, so please stay in touch...

Thank you for your insightfull words. I HAVE been symptom checking to see if I matched up with anyone. :) My mother used to tell me not to borrow trouble! I know that both you and my mother are right and that I just need to have the test and let my doctor and the pathologist do what they get paid to do. Waiting is hard and I somehow think that if I self-diagnose then I am prepared either way. I even think that maybe I should refuse the biopsie as having this type of cancer is pretty farfetched, I quess. Not knowing is hard as I am sure you know but on the other hand ignorance is bliss! lol
Thank you once again for taking the time to give me such good advice!

Hi there! I apologize for my
Hi there! I apologize for my delay in replying. I chose not to have the biopsy. I went to my appointment and my gyn had the results from my requested blood test that said I was not in menopause. Not being in menopause meant that the thickness of the lining was not abnormal. She left it up to me to have the biopsy or not. We did do a tumor maker test and that was normal. We have no idea why I didn't have a period for 14 months, why I had all the symptoms of menopause or why I have pain but I will have another ultrasound to see if the cysts go away and I am monitoring my bleeding/spotting irregularities for discussion with my doc.
Last May I was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia and have responded well to the meds. My onc does not think that the leukemia had anything to do with my periods stopping. I quess we are in a watch and see mode. If I have a gynological cancer also then I quess the symptoms will get more severe, right?
Thank you for your concern and your insight. :)
