new thread, "here's what they told me" GOING HOME!
Well I read the last of the postings on "here's what they told me" yes I always celebrate when I fart. I had a small poop and while doing so I'm texting my ex husband to tell him...lol...while on the toilet. We take all these things for granted and don't realilze what a pleasure these things are til we have problems.
OH OH and yes, I'm going home today sometime after 4 p.m. they have to show me how to give myself these injections to help ease the distention, but his is sure slow in coming, but at least I"m not vomiting and things are staying where they should. I've been introduced to solid foods and I'm figuring out on my own by sampling what they put on my tray what I can tolorate and what I can't. Definately ice cream is not one of the things my tummy is thrilled with. So when get home I'm going make lots of jello cos I seem to be able to enjoy that with no cause for concern. One thing I find though and I don't know if it's the air in here but I'm so darn sleepy all the time, I can barely keep my eyes opened.
Well that's all the news for now and I will check the boards out tomorrow and catch up on what's happening with you gals I've been so self absorbed with my own crap (no pun) that I know that there are some of you going throught your own battle. I will read them all and see if there is anything useful I can add to it. I love you guys and I really do have my mojo back. I met a pretty neat lady here my own age and we got along great so I now have my own friend that I can see in the flesh and visit on occasion which makes me feel more connected.
Love love and so much more love to you all.
Linda

Happy Valentine's Day to us!
Linda,
Yay for the farting and even a small poop can carry with it a mighty impact! I also got some most excellent news today!
My resident came into my room this morning and asked me a few questions, which I answered. Then he left to do rounds with Dr. Ryu (the third member of my fab team of super docs who I met for the first time today.) So, Dr. Ryu comes in, listens to my belly, looks at my incision, asks about my "farts" and then says to me: "Hey, Happy Valentine's Day, how would you like to spend it at home?"
OMG! Valentine's Day! at HOME!
so, here I am! On my own couch (probably sleeping here tonight, as well)
Like you, I've been left pretty much to figure out what my tummy can tolerate and I'm so far I'm opting for the full liquid/semi-solid diet. Lots of rumblings, a few fartings but so far, no poopings. If it's anything like pooping after giving birth, it'll be Wednesday before that happens!
I realize how lucky I have been so far with my surgical experience and how blessed I am to have the support of all of you!
Much Love and Happy Valentine's Day to all!

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!
So happy you're home, Linda! And I'm glad you're finding out what you can tolerate. It really helps to be in tune to our bodies, and we DO know them best! So, keep up whatever nutrition you can and I'm sure things will keep moving along. And now you can get some substantial rest, 'cause Lord knows you can't get any in the hospital!
Lots of luv & hugs!!!

Way to go Dorion...glad to hear you are going home. Have you tried the Ensure or Boost drinks? I like the strawberry Ensure the best.

Hi Ladies
Thanks for your happy thoughts for Leesa and I. Congrats Leesa, yes very exciting to go home. And yeah you sure don't get any at the hospital, as soon as you fall asleep they wake you up for meds or blood pressure or something.
What rest? As soon as I got home I had laundry to do for my Meghan, and a lot of cleaning. Because my neighbors literally next door took care of Meghan that meant she would come home here and hang for a bit, and look after our Bunny "Hoto" and our new hampster "Albert" so whatever cleaning I did before I left was pretty much undone. The work carried on til yesterday, NOW I relax!!! Gonna get that strawberry ensure. I was so worried because after my monumental poop yesterday morning everything stopped, no farts a l ot of burps that's it. I started a new post about it. But I was so scared that I got on my hands and knees in the bathroom and prayed to God to just give me a fart, something. And would you know, 5 minutes later, a good ole toot! Well hopefully Meghan can go to school today, it seems our Mondays are hexed, she has had a cold all weekend, in bed all day yesterday so that was the other thing that kept me running, taking care of my Baby. Love to you guys. Easy does it to you too Leesa. Remember you are taking pain meds and that bungs you up big time. Stool softners is a must!!!!!
