My Dr put me on Gemzar in Nov 2009, Had three rounds and then a CT Scan. The Gemzar was not working. She changed me to TOPOTECAN. I was wondering if anyone has been on Topotecan and the side effects.

    Topotecan
    Dinora,

I found topo to be a much easier regimen than carbo/taxol. I was on it for for about 8 months. I did have constipation issues and some fatigue. My hair started thinning at the very end, but even then I didn't lose much. I never got a remission but the cancer didn't progress either (until the end). I hope you get good results and it is an easier regimen for you as well.

Dear Dinora, sorry to hear the gemzar not working. I have been on topotecan and it helped some but I felt like I had the flu all the time and need blood transfusions. Praying this is the one to knock your cancer back. Hugs ♥ Prayers Bonnie

    New Chemo
Thank you Kathy and Bonnie for the response. I always get a little nervous starting a new Chemo. When I was on Gemzar for a couple of days I felt like I had the flu.

    Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!Dinora
