A Survivor's Park
I live in Ottawa, Canada and last year they built a Survivors Park in a very well travelled area of the city and it is just so fantastic looking and uplifting thought I would spread the word and maybe this kind of thing could be built in other areas of the world. I know there are parks like it around called other things but this name and the flowers that are permanent structures on the premises just leave such a good message for all passerbys. Survivor's Park says it all. I passed by there the other day on my way to a doctors appointment and just couldn't believe it when I saw it.
Right now there is just a big sign with the parks name on it but next year they will be building Wellspring which is an organization to help with wellness issues surrounding cancer. It is in Toronto Ontario, that's where I believe it started, I visited there years back when I was in treatment in Toronto and know it to be a marvelous resource for information and support so very happy to hear they are opening a Wellspring here soon too.
No doubt Survivors Park will be a great centre for fundraising and support for survivors and their families and friends.
Just thought I would pass the world along and here is the site:

That is the gallery of photos page and again this is just starting up but arent the tulips grand? It's like the sky is the limit for their growth. Spread the word if there is nothing like this in your area would be wonderful to see tulips like that in many cities all over.
Blessings, Bluerose

Beautiful
Bluerose,
Long time since I have seen you on here. How are you doing.
Thanks for posting this, it is beautiful. And the finshed plans look great. What a tribute to survivors! I can`t wait to see what it looks like with all the tulips in bloom in the spring.
Take care!

Good to see you. I have been around, mainly hanging out in the chatroom in the mornings or early afternoons some days but haven't been posting that much except for the last few days.
I'm not bad, been worse and have been a whole lot better. Coasting right now, still going to a million specialist and having a million tests, same old same old.
How are you doing? What's new?
Ya the park is amazing, wait til Wellspring gets here, do you know Wellspring in Toronto? Wonderful place. I would love to get involved in this just a fabulous area and yup in Spring with all our thousands upon thousands of tulips it will be gorgeous.
This weekend starts Winterlude out here and thank heavans the Canal is fine for skating. We had a bit of a thaw not long ago that had organizers a little worried. People come from far and wide to skate on the Canal in the winter - longest skating rink in the World so it better be frozen when they get here. lol.
Let me know how you have been and good to hear from you.

I saw on the news about Winterlude, it looks like fun. I would one day like to skate on the canal.
Things here have been pretty good. They have Bill on Xeloda now, and he will have a scan this week. Hopefully it is doing it's job.
Glad to hear things are going fairly well for you. And hopefully they are able to help you.

Just a short note to let you know that you and Bill are in my prayers. Let's hope this drug helps him and that it is indeed doing its job.
Take care and hope to hear from you soon.
Hugs,
