COLOR ME JEALOUS!
CABO!!!???? Please enjoy yourself and know I am so jealous as I look out my office window at a 25 degree day! lol
I don't believe the massage is a good idea, and as far as the Herbal wrap, give your doc a call.
Soak up that lovely warm sun!!!

Thought someone would know wihout having to do an international call. The lady her says it depends on what type of cancer but.........I will get a hot stone massage, its this afternoon. they are all booked up cant wait on onc.0 -
Ask your onc
We had this discussion a while back. The Mayo clinic offers massage as part of their healing procedures. Exercise of any sort increases lymphatic drainage. Exercise is good for preventing recurrences.
I, personally, would not take the chance. But then, that's just me and I'm old. LOL0 -
probably not
Hi Nana,
How nice to be in Cabo! Echoing what Diane said, I'd probably not risk the lymphatic massage. You never know if there could be microscopic cancer cells in your lymphatic system & I wouldn't want them massaged and spread around. An Herbal wrap sounds more harmless. Maybe a regular deep tissue massage wouldn't be risky, but I don't know. A massage sounds so good to me right now, as my back is killing me.
I'd maybe put a quick call in to your onc.
Enjoy your trip!

To massage or not to massage
There are a a lot of conflicting messages about massage and cancer. I had massage as part of my acupuncture treatment when I was in treatment and continue now (NED status). My oncologist OKs it. It is given at the Huntsman Cancer Institute where I had both surgeries and was very helpful (light massage such as lymphatic drainage). Some massage therapists are not comfortable with it so only go to ones who are and who are trained. There are caveats about not massaging tumors directly.
Here are a couple of links with more info

I am afraid I would never get any adverse reactions from massages. I have never had one and I don't intend to start. They invade my space so badly they almost make me cringe. Ron.0 -
Share with your massage therapist...
I have had many massages, before and after treatment...
BUT...I always share EVERYTHING as far as my treatments...and I don't let them massage my abdomen...I did, once, and ended up with a partial obstruction...lol...my colon isn't where it used to be since the J-pouch procedure..
Oh, and I suggest VERY light massage for my 'special' arm from the breast cancer...and told them about my port (when I had it...).
Hugs and have FUN in Cabo!!!!!
Hugs, Kathi0
