Going in for pet scan this month. Stopped chemo in Nov. Been feeling great until the past week. I'll be feeling fine one minute then this really bad feeling (physical) will come over my body. Kinda starting in my stomach and almost like nausea but not. Hard to explain, but just a terrible feeling. I know its not alot to go on but has anyone else had this experience?

Could it be scanxiety about going in for the scan?

    Yep
I know exactly what you are talking about. When it hits you can’t seem to get your breath. Had it for 3 days last week. Nurse said it was probably a virus. It just went away.

    scanxiety
Thought about that phillieg, this is something definatly physical. Its wierd. I absolutely feel great one second and then the next I feel like my whole body is sick. It lasts for about 10 minutes then goes away. It seems to be getting more frequent. Not sure whats going on. Very Vague symptoms.

    Hello Zenmonk!
Hmmm....I'm wondering if there is anything you can connect to the timing of your symptoms? Eating or taking any medications or supplements? Remember that to metabolize food or medications your body can take up to twelve hours to move it from top to bottom.

    Litttle worried
I get something like that too. I found if I eat a little something close to when I take my medications for blood pressure and cholesterol it decreases. Do you take any meds that could do this to you too? If so try to get a little something in your stomach when you take them. Hope you get to feeling better, and that your scans are fine.

Ah yeah. I get that when I take vitamins. It is like a nauseated feeling in my head, it is way horrible. I would watch when you take meds and if they overlap with this feeling you get.

    scan coming up too
    Hi Zenmonk,

Have you talked to your onc about this feeling? It could be something completely unrelated to cancer or it actually really could be scanxiety. Sometimes anxiety manifests in physical symptoms. I will hope that's what it is and that your scan will come out good. I have my next scan on Feb. 12, so I definitely know the scanxiety feeling.

Do some deep cleansing breathing any time you feel that & see if it possibly starts to lessen.

    Take care-

    Scan
I've got one too. So we all pray and scan ") I had the same problem for the last week. It was acid reflux that was irritating my airways and making me feel crappy. It would come and go, chemo/oxi stomach hangover.

    I'll pray for you
I don't know what is causing the feeling, but I'll be praying that your scan will show that it's NOT cancer.

    *hugs*

Praying your upcoming scans are a ok. Zenmonk, on the days you feel ok, could you just be overdoing it and then your body is compensating?
