I just wanted to share my experience on this board. My husband was dx'd with stage 4
rectal cancer. He seemed to be perfectly healthy but a colonoscopy revealed that was
not true. I was completely devasted, we have a son who was 12, he needs his Dad.
The onc. gave us a book and it had little hope once the cancer had spread, checked the
internet....5-10 months.

I was in shock...and then I found this site....Craig, Donna and everyone welcomed me.
When he had a problem with chemo (mouth sores, etc someone would pop up with a rememdy...that worked). There is hope if you aren't a candidate for resection right
away.. my situation was sim. but this happened and... then the thread by Scouty that
was a roll call for stage 4 survivors, you can get through the treatments, so many
stories that provided HOPE....THANKS SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO HAS MADE THIS TERRIBLE
CANCER A LITTLE EASIER....

Your husband and you deserve all of the credit. Keep up the positive attitude, there are always new treatments coming out. Also, I think it's often better to not over research on the internet. It's full of a lot of false information. There are many in this forum who can offer positive personal experience as you have already seen. Don't hesitate to keep asking questions.
    Keep on keeping on.

    Stats
Can be so misleading. Phil gave good advice, this site is a wealth of info. Stage 4 is not the kiss of death :)
