    My dad did take part

    My dad did take part in a chemo-radiation combo clinical trial at Duke Med Ctr. It seemed that it was more aggressive than the standard routine, but was specific to his cancer. Actually, now that i think about it, I think that it was going to be offered somewhere in Boston too because the er having such good results with it at Duke.

    Here is a site that you should look into: http://www.cancer.gov/clinicaltrials/learning (It is the National Cancer Institute). I can tell you more about my dad's RX if you are interested, but usually you need to be at a big teaching hospital that sees a lot of esophageal cancer to do them. Have the Dr's you've seen suggested one?

    I think it's scary because you have to really trust the Dr's, but on the other hand you get a chance at possibly at the latest medical treatments...
    Get LOTs of info ---and pray for wisdom & guidance....then quietly wait for answers...

    Yes, Layne was in several
    Two or three that regarded proton therapy and one chemo trial. Trials can be very good because you can be getting tomorrow's meds today.

    Yes my husband has involving Erbitux along with 2 other chemo drugs and radiation. He was fortunate to have it...
